About me

I am Jo. I am an accredited and experienced UKCP integrative psychotherapist and counsellor (SCoPEd Band C).

Inclusivity and individuality are key aspects of my work as I recognise that everyone is a unique individual who has been on a journey and deserves to be heard. I offer a safe and confidential space where I will listen to you with warm compassion, curiosity and kindness as you share your experiences at your own pace.

I am a relational, person-centred psychotherapist. I work with a broad range of clients who are all unique individuals, and I welcome everyone, no matter who you are or your experiences. I am trained and experienced in working with people with a range of mental health diagnosis’, complex trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, survivors of abuse, people experiencing dependency and addiction. I specialise in working with neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ and sexual diversity (including kink inclusivity, alterhuman/otherkin/therian and members of the furry community).

I have an affirming approach to gender, sexuality and relationship diversity. I work with individuals, couples and polycules. I value a trauma-informed approach to my work when exploring client life experiences and the impact these have on people's mental health.

Please contact me if you would like to arrange an introductory session to see whether you would like to work with me.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapist. I have an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling.

I have training and experience in existential, psychodynamic, gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), dialogical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), object relations and attachment approaches. However, when I work with a client, I aim to work together to build a safe, supportive, and healing relationship, leaving theories and models at the door to meet you human to human.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
