About me

Hello, I’m Joan, a qualified therapeutic counsellor offering a warm, non-judgemental space where you can feel truly heard, accepted, and understood.

I recognise that reaching out for support can feel daunting. My approach is integrative and tailored to you as an individual, working in an emotionally attuned and thoughtful way that respects your experiences, your pace, and your personal space.

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including stress, anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in supporting those navigating menopause and midlife changes, including shifts in identity, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.

I welcome clients from diverse relationship structures, including ethical non-monogamy and non-traditional partnerships. I offer a safe and inclusive space to explore relationships, boundaries, and personal growth without judgement.

Drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches, I tailor my work to suit your needs. Whether you wish to explore past experiences, make sense of current challenges, or develop coping strategies, I will support you in finding a way forward that feels right for you.

My aim is that, together, we can help you deepen your self-awareness, build resilience, and feel more empowered in your life. I believe everyone has the capacity for growth and change, and I am here to support you on that journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

My placement took place at the Dartmoor Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy. After completing my 100 hours, I now volunteer at the Dartmoor Centre.
