About me

JM Counselling

I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor offering a warm, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and accepted.

I support adults experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in menopause and midlife changes, including shifts in identity, confidence, and emotional well-being.

My approach is integrative and tailored to you, working in an emotionally mindful and neuro-inclusive way that respects your individual experiences and pace.

I welcome clients in diverse relationship structures, including ethical non-monogamy and non-traditional partnerships. I offer a safe space to explore relationships, boundaries, and personal growth without judgement.

Together, we can build self-awareness, resilience, and practical ways to support your well-being.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • NCPS Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling - Level 4.
  • SEG Awards Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills.

My placement took place at the Dartmoor Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy. After completing my 100 hours, I now volunteer at the Dartmoor Centre.

Breaking Free with Psychology & Psychological Therapies, Barnstaple. Volunteer as a Counselling Support Worker with the Breaking Free Group.  This is for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. The programme of exercises runs 14 weeks in total and the group members are allocated a counselling support worker (CSW) for weekly one hour sessions.   At every stage safety, well-being and support are important to hold in mind.  Empathic listening. Stability and support. Help with the exercises. Encourage and motivate.
