About me

Welcome. Finding the right therapist can be a challenging process, but it’s essential to find someone who can truly guide you through your healing journey. I offer a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space where my role would be to help you explore your abilities and strengths, enabling you to navigate whatever issues you face, develop a deeper understanding of yourself in relation to others, and enhance your overall sense of wellbeing.

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist/Counsellor, drawing on techniques from a variety of therapeutic approaches to tailor a treatment plan specific to your individual needs. I believe that there is no single approach that works for everyone, as each person’s circumstances and experiences are unique. By combining elements from different modalities, I am able to create a flexible, personalised approach that supports you in exploring and coping with a wide range of issues.

What I Offer

My person-centred approach will always prioritise you as the focus of our therapy, working at your pace. Your healing process will be valued and nurtured throughout. Once trust is established, we may explore your personal history, any repressed memories and behavioural patterns. This exploration can bring thoughts and feelings into your conscious awareness, which is often the first step toward change whilst providing you with sustainable tools and techniques to cope with any future unhelpful behavioural patterns.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience working with diverse communities and welcome individuals from all cultural backgrounds and faiths. I also approach therapy with an informed perspective on the impact of systems of oppression, such as racism, sexism, and ableism.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
