About me

Hi, you may be searching these pages feeling overwhelmed, stuck, unsure, anxious, or your world has stopped spinning whilst everyone else carries on......

You may be trying to navigate grief, a pain from loss that no-one else understands. I'll support your grief and loss, in all its forms.

You may have lost someone through; illness, death, pregnancy & baby loss, suicide, divorce, ending relationships, friendships or losing beloved pets.

Losses others may not know about also hit hard.... Why didn't I do more? I feel anger, guilt, shame... or numb 'nothingness'.  What else could I have done? Are my feelings 'normal'?

You may feel loss of your ‘self’ through; health challenges, menopause, redundancy, divorce & relationship breakdowns, financial or career challenges, caring responsibilities, anxiety, trauma, depression and more...... Who am I? Can I get the old me back? Why don't they understand? Who’s there for me?

Life throws challenges and we may blame ourselves, or others, not knowing what to do.  We may have a mix of emotions or numbness....

I’ll support you with difficult thoughts, taking one step at a time. We’ll go at your pace, in your way, no pressure.

My journey into counselling has been driven by a deep passion for helping others navigate life’s complexities without any judgement. I offer 50minute sessions; online / face to face in a pleasant garden conservatory in Horsham, or walk & talk in Horsham area.

Along with my own lived experience, I’ve also worked professionally or trained with wonderful organisations such as; Mind (mental health charity), Sands (baby loss), Cruse (bereavement), NHS and the Samaritans.  I’ve previously volunteered as a school governor, befriender, volunteer counsellor and for community projects, hopefully illustrating some of my values.

We'll have an initial call before deciding if I'm the right person for you and/or you could look at my website too. Thanks for reading my details and take care on your therapeutic journey if our paths don't cross.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

If you're worried about being able to articulate your feelings or experiences verbally, I'm trained to work creatively and support you to consider, express and share your emotions in other ways.

One of my favourite sayings is "People will forget what you said, they will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel" Maya Angelou. My aim is to help you feel heard, safe and empowered.

My website is Mindmatters.Solutions if you'd like to know more about me and my practice.   My emblem includes the Lotus flower, a blooming symbol of growth having navigated murky waters.
