About me

Hi, my name is James, thanks for checking out my profile.
Relationships:
play a crucial role in our lives, especially romantic ones. But do you find yourself repeating the same behavior patterns? Are you drawn to partners who aren’t right for you or even toxic? Perhaps you experience anxiety in relationships, always worrying, "Why haven’t they called?" Or maybe you feel suffocated by a partner’s neediness, leaving you yearning for space. Or are you someone who finds it difficult to set boundaries, letting your partners take advantage of you? If you feel vulnerable in relationships and struggle with asserting yourself, you're not alone.

When our relationships are dysfunctional, it can lead to low self-esteem, anxiety, stress, and depression, which can also affect those close to us, like friends and family. Toxic relationships can cause a loss of identity and self-worth.

I specialize in working through all these attachment behaviors and have helped many clients cultivate healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

Family: While you can choose your friends, you can’t choose your family! This saying rings true for so many. Family dynamics are often complex. Do you find your relationship with a siblings or other family members challenging? Is your family making you unhappy? Many of us struggle with family relationships, but there is often a path forward. By discussing your feelings and emotions surrounding your family, we can work together to help you navigate these feelings.

Change: I once had a vibrant career in music, but in 2010, the industry shifted, and I lost my career. This change plunged me into depression, and I found myself in a dark place. However, as I trained to become a counselor, I realized that a life crisis can serve as an opportunity for a life reset that can bring about positive change. Are you going through something similar? Have you recently had to re-adjust your whole life? Do you find change difficult, perhaps even frightening? Let’s work together to help you navigate change and embrace the unfamiliar.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
