About me

Iris Finch. Counsellor and Psychotherapist in Stansted and online. MSc in Psychology & Prof. Dip Psy C.

I work in an integrative approach tailoring the therapy to your specific concerns, your personality, goals and pace. I use a wide array of therapeutic theories and practices, including Person-centred, CBT and Psychodynamic methods, as appropriate to the individual. Working in a warm, collaborative way to build relational depth, so together we make sense of your experiences.Through therapy I am here to support you to get in touch with the most authentic version of yourself.

My work focusses on issues around Self-esteem, Self-awareness, Depression, Anxieties and Phobias, Loneliness or Isolation, Marital or Relationship issues, Family Conflicts, Loss, Lacking meaning or purpose in life and Work-Related difficulties.

I offer a safe, non-judgmental and fully confidential environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, develop healthier coping strategies, and work toward greater self-awareness and personal growth. The aim is to identify, process and move beyond trauma experiences. The purpose is to create lasting psychological and emotional change.

Growing up in challenging circumstances, many people developed protective behaviours and styles to avoid feeling pain and disappointment.  Understanding early relationship and attachment to caregivers, and the patterns you adopted in early years creates a central part of therapy. As a psychotherapist, I work to encourage clients to reconnect with whatever it is that they are thinking and feeling in the moment. My interest lies in individual differences, and use of language as our true self emerges when we put ourselves into our own words. When we reject parts of ourselves, our capacity for love and growth is often diminished.

I provide a space, for in person and online Psychotherapy and Counselling.

I offer an initial free 20 mins consultation where we can meet to discuss and think about how you feel about our prospects of working together.
