Helen Lee - MA, MBACP Accredited And Registered, Counsellor And Supervisor.
I have over 15 years of experience in private practice, and have developed my practice based in central Grimsby, where I have a comfortable and private space, with accessible parking. I am accredited and registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
I work with individual's, couples and accept referrals from GPs, Employer Assistant Programmes (EAPs) and local organisations. I have developed and delivered training for Rape Crisis, the Criminal Prosecution Service (CPS) and delivered workshops on trauma in the workplace. I also offer supervision to trainee and qualified therapist's. I have lectured in counselling for both University Centre Grimsby and part-time as a senior lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.
I believe that before coming to counselling, most people have tried their very best to address their difficulties. The reason you might seek further support in counselling is because the strategies you have been using are no longer working for you.
My ultimate goal as a counsellor is to help empower clients to improve their lives by making manageable but meaningful changes throughout the therapeutic process, helping reconcile their pasts in order to live more fully in the present.
My aim is to help you explore thoughts/beliefs and behavioural patterns that are sustaining your difficulties. Through exploring your relationship with yourself and others I aim to help you understand how previous life events can influence your way of being, through processing difficult experiences that are intruding in your present moment.
