About me

Hello

A warm welcome to my page and thank you for visiting.

I am a fully accredited, experienced Counselling Psychotherapist & Clinical Supervisor, running private practice in Kinross and Glasgow, UK & Europe wide. I work remotely - video calls (Zoom or Teams) or telephone, whichever works best for you.

I offer Outdoor Therapy (Walk & Talk) in the Kinross area.  Spaces are limited.  Please get in touch for more information.

I am passionate about my work, and as a fully Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy, I offer a confidential and professional service you can fully trust.

I understand coming to therapy can feel daunting at first, but I believe it is a worthwhile and courageous step towards making real and positive change in your life. It is my aim to make you feel welcome by creating a comfortable and safe space where we can work together towards a more balanced, reflective and centred self ...living your best life, to your fullest potential.

I work with adults, children & young people and all appointments are at a time to suit your schedule.

My areas of specialist interests; health anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, anger, stress, general anxiety, trauma, ptsd, addictions, working with adult survivors of child sexual abuse, abuse (emotional &/or physical), confidence issues, relationship therapy (couples or individual), self empowerment, working with children & young people, enhancing self-awareness towards the authentic self, coping with long term illness (self or those impacted by another's illness), lost connection with self.

Want to have your sessions remotely? No problem, let's connect via Zoom or Teams (your sessions will be via fully encrypted), or if you prefer telephone or email therapy - that is available, we can make it work for you. I have worked remotely for many years and it proves a very popular choice of accessing therapy.  My research shows many of my clients wish to continue with their remote sessions beyond Covid restrictions.  Worth considering - accessing your sessions via technology offers you flexibility in your chosen environment such as your home, car, whilst you're out walking, at work ....anywhere you feel safe and have space to talk, we can make it work.

Perhaps it's difficult for you to attend therapy due to other commitments, health reasons, transport difficulties and so on?  Working remotely means you can access therapy from absolutely anywhere you choose.

I work in the UK and across Europe.

Once your appointment is arranged, I will text, email or call you (whatever you prefer) and we will take it from there, as a team. Appointment reminders are easily set up if you wish.

All sessions are 100% confidential.

Bookings available for Clinical Supervision £55ph

Arrange your appointment, at a time to suit your life. Early appointments available upon request, 6.30am onwards.

Do you require an invoice or perhaps someone else is paying for your therapy? No problem, invoices containing only dates attended can be sent via text or email weekly or monthly ...what ever works best for you.

Testimonial published with permission ....Heather is warm and welcoming; really easy to talk to and expertly guides me around my head space, often without me noticing. I had lost control of what goes on in there, but she has helped me to stop, look at myself and get back in touch with 'me'.  There’s no pressure; no measurement or benchmark to achieve; it’s all about me and my world. It’s like having a professional best friend! Her consultation room is a little haven of tranquillity and somehow manages to prevent distraction while staying in touch with the lovely garden area immediately outside.

I look forward welcoming you to your therapeutic process where we will work together at your pace, making a positive and rewarding difference to your life today.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Very best wishes

Heather

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
