About me

Hello

A warm welcome to my page and thank you for visiting.

I am a fully accredited, experienced Counselling Psychotherapist, running private practice in Kinross.

I am passionate about my work, and as a fully Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy, I offer a confidential and professional service you can fully trust. Appointments are at a time to suit your life Mon-Sat.

I work with adults, children & young people.

I understand coming to therapy can feel daunting at first, but I believe it is a worthwhile and courageous step towards making real and positive change in your life. It is my aim to make you feel welcome by creating a comfortable and safe space where we can work together towards a more balanced, reflective and centred self ...living your best life, to your fullest potential.

My areas of specialist interest include; depression, suicidal ideation, anger, stress, general anxiety & health anxiety, addictions (alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling), adult survivors of child sexual abuse, abuse (emotional &/or physical), confidence issues, bereavement, relationship therapy (couples or individual), eating disorders, self empowerment, self-awareness, coping with long term illness, lost connection with self.

My office is in High Street in Kinross. It's easy to find, discrete, comfortable and safe. There are plenty local carparking spaces and public toilets available within short walking distance.

Once your appointment is arranged, I will text, email or call you with directions, which ever you prefer. I can easily set up an appointment reminder and do not charge for cancellations ...life happens!

All sessions are of course completely confidential.

Arrange your appointment, at a time to suit your life.
Monday - Saturday ...times are variable to suit and meet your needs.

Early appointments available upon request from 6am onwards.

I offer counselling sessions via ZOOM and TELEPHONE. ZOOM offers you therapy from the comfort of your own home, office, holiday etc. Perhaps it's difficult for you to attend therapy due to other commitments or perhaps restricted due to health reasons, transport and so on. Zoom means you can access therapy from anywhere in the world.
Invoices are sent per session or monthly ...what ever works best for you

Individual Psychotherapeutic Counselling - £45 1 hour session
Couples Counselling - £60 1 hour session
Counselling Students seeking required course work sessions, reduced rate available - £30

Bereavement Support Groups run periodically throughout the year.

I offer children's self-awareness & self-empowerment classes for groups of 10. These classes aim to enhance individual self-awareness and self-confidence, and it's great fun! Contact me via phone or email for further details. Fridays in term time - 5pm - 5.45pm.

Employee Support Service is available for employers wishing to support staff. I offer an excellent tailor-made service for your business. We work together to maintain a healthy and supported staff team. Contact me for further details.

Testimonial published with permission ....Heather is warm and welcoming; really easy to talk to and expertly guides me around my head space, often without me noticing. I had lost control of what goes on in there, but she has helped me to stop, look at myself and get back in touch with 'me'.  There’s no pressure; no measurement or benchmark to achieve; it’s all about me and my world. It’s like having a professional best friend! Her consultation room is a little haven of tranquillity and somehow manages to prevent distraction while staying in touch with the lovely garden area immediately outside.

I look forward to working together to make a positive and rewarding difference to your life today.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
