About me

You may have spent years feeling “too much”, “not enough”, or like you had to hide parts of yourself to stay safe. Perhaps you grew up with a parent who controlled, criticised, or dismissed you, and you’re still carrying the impact. Maybe you’ve always felt different - especially if you’re neurodivergent - and you’re tired of masking or overthinking every interaction.

I help adults who feel different, overwhelmed, or shaped by difficult early relationships - including those who identify as neurodivergent, grew up with controlling or narcissistic parents, or struggle with people‑pleasing and shame. Feeling different often means years of masking, adapting, or shrinking yourself to fit in. Together, we make sense of your story so you can feel more grounded, confident, and connected to who you really are, and begin creating relationships and boundaries that feel safe and sustainable for you.

I work relationally, helping you understand how early dynamics shaped your patterns today. My approach is warm, validating, and grounded in compassion. My practice is neurodivergent‑affirming, meaning we explore your experiences without pathologising who you are.

You can expect to develop a clearer sense of identity and understand your needs and strengths from a more positive, self‑accepting viewpoint - especially if you’re neurodivergent. Many clients experience a reduction in shame and self‑blame, and begin to cultivate a more compassionate inner voice. Over time, you may find yourself feeling less caught in overthinking and self‑doubt, and more able to step out of old survival patterns that no longer serve you.

My Background

I’m a warm, steady, and down‑to‑earth counsellor who believes therapy should feel like a place where you can finally exhale. My work is shaped by both my professional training and my own journey of understanding myself more fully.

I was diagnosed with ADHD at 32, after years of feeling “different” without having the language for it. Unpacking that experience - along with the shame, masking, and uncertainty about who I really was - helped me develop a much clearer and kinder sense of self. That process deeply informs the way I work. I know what it’s like to move through the world feeling misunderstood, to question your identity, and to carry the impact of early relationships that didn’t offer the emotional safety you needed.

Because of this, I’m especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent adults and those who grew up in controlling, critical, or emotionally unpredictable environments. I care about helping people unlearn shame, reconnect with their identity, and build relationships that feel safe and nourishing.

How We Work Together

Because I know how overwhelming it can feel to be pushed to open up before you’re ready, pacing is central to how I work. We move gently, checking in often, and you’re always in control of the speed. There’s no expectation to share everything at once -your nervous system sets the rhythm, and I follow your lead.

I offer a space where you don’t have to mask, perform, or explain yourself. Together, we explore your story at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of your needs, so you can begin to feel more grounded, confident, and connected to who you truly are.

If this resonates with you, I’d be glad to offer a safe space where you don’t have to mask or explain yourself. You’re welcome to get in touch to see whether we feel like a good fit.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
