About me
Counselling, Hypnotherapy and EMDR in Blackawton, near Totnes, Paignton and Online
Many of the clients I work with grew up in environments where it didn't feel safe to speak openly about their thoughts, feelings, needs or experiences.
Perhaps they learned to keep the peace, stay quiet, put others first, or carry difficult things alone.
As adults, this can show up as anxiety, people pleasing, poor boundaries, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm or a sense of feeling disconnected from who they really are.
I offer a warm, compassionate and trauma-informed space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. There is no pressure to explain everything or talk about anything before you feel ready.
My role is not to judge, analyse or tell you what to do. Instead, I work alongside you to help you understand yourself more deeply, make sense of what you have been carrying, and reconnect with your own voice.
Many people come to therapy because they are struggling in the present, only to discover that some of their current difficulties make sense in the context of earlier experiences. Together, we can explore those patterns with curiosity, compassion and without judgement.
I commonly support clients with:
Anxiety and overthinking
Stress and emotional overwhelm
Difficult childhood experiences
Childhood trauma and emotional neglect
Adult children of emotionally immature parents
People pleasing and boundary difficulties
Low self-worth and self-doubt
Relationship difficulties
Grief and loss
Trauma and PTSD
I integrate counselling, EMDR and hypnotherapy where appropriate, tailoring therapy to your individual needs and goals.
