About me

There are times in our lives when we may feel, anxious, and uncertain because of experiences that have impacted on our emotions causing anxiety, depression while feeling lost because of low self-esteem and no matter how many ways of thinking there appears to be no way of navigating a way forward.

My name is Glyn and I’m a therapist and, like most therapists, I’ve been to therapy which changed my life, so much so that I believe therapy has the potential to enhance everyone’s lives.

I am a counsellor and mindfulness teacher with and previously a social worker, with working with people of all ages and from all walks of life, including children, teenagers, adults - families and individuals in the community, in the home, and in groups that has helped my practice evolve as a counsellor and mindfulness teacher.

Based on my training and personal experiences I work in an integrative way, therefore being able to adapt therapy to the needs of the client and knowing what works in clinical practice. As a practitioner I avoid jargon and together we work through what bought you to counselling which enables you to understand and use the tools for the future.

I offer a safe with confidential environment either face to face or online with an initial free thirty-minute discussion to help you make up your mind if what I offer suits your needs.

I look forward to hearing from you or alternatively wish you well in finding a therapist.

Glyn

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I work from an integrative approach, using a variety of modalities and psychological theories that are related to counselling and psychotherapy. My premises is quiet where I can offer face to face, or remotely via Zoom and Skype.
Often people come to counselling because they are repeating patterns of behaviour that are causing them distress, anxiety or depression hindering them from developing their life journey. I offer a safe comfortable environment where people can be heard and problems can be unpicked by working together with hope and a destination in mind.
It is also my belief that through this therapeutic journey I can offer tools to understand patterns of behaviour but also help stop repeating them in the future. I am a registered member of the BACP and sessions are for 50 minutes.
