About me

Hello and welcome

You may have spent so long looking after everyone else that you’ve stopped checking in with yourself.

Perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed, exhausted or carrying the weight of family life on your shoulders. You might find yourself snapping more than you'd like, questioning your decisions or feeling as though you're never quite doing enough.

Maybe you don’t recognise who you are anymore. You love your children but feel guilty, disconnected or like you’re constantly getting things wrong.

Parenthood can be incredibly rewarding, but can also be exhausting, isolating and overwhelming at times. Alongside caring for children, there’s the invisible mental load of remembering, organising, anticipating needs and keeping everything running. Whether you’re navigating pregnancy, early parenthood, parenting a child with additional needs, or juggling the demands of family life, it can be easy for your own needs to slip to the bottom of the list.

How I Can Help

Counselling offers a space that’s just for you.

I believe you are the expert on your own life, so rather than telling you what to do, I work with you to explore what you’d like to get from counselling. Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, helping you understand yourself better and reconnect with what matters most to you.

Over time, many people find they feel more able to manage life’s ups and downs, respond rather than react, communicate more openly and approach parenting with greater confidence and self compassion.

My Experience

Alongside my integrative counselling training, I have undertaken additional training in perinatal mental health and have a particular interest in supporting parents of children with additional or complex needs.

How We Can Work Together

I offer online, in person and walk and talk counselling in and around Brackley, Northamptonshire. For some, walking side by side outdoors can provide a more relaxed space to reflect, particularly if sitting face to face doesn’t feel comfortable.

Taking the First Step

Finding the right counsellor is important, which is why I offer a free 15-minute introductory call. We can talk about what brings you to counselling, I can answer any questions you have and you can see whether I’m the right counsellor for you.

I am currently welcoming enquiries for appointments from September.

If you’d like to find out more, please get in touch by phone, email, or message. I’d be happy to answer any questions and discuss how I can support you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP) and hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I have completed additional training in perinatal mental health (including neurodivergent birth, baby loss and bereavement, trauma, family dynamics and antenatal and postnatal-related mental health), trauma informed practice and walk and talk counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I offer a free and confidential 15-minute introductory call where we can get to know each other, discuss what has brought you to counselling and explore whether we feel like a good fit. It's also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about therapy, how I work and how I might be able to support you. There is no obligation to continue. My aim is to support you to decide whether working with me feels right for you. If none of the introductory call times work for you, feel free to get in touch and we can look at a different time.
