About me

Hello, life can feel overwhelming at times. Anxiety, stress, depression and other mental health challenges are part of being human — yet when they become too heavy, it can feel difficult to cope alone.

As a trauma-informed integrative counsellor, I provide a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours with care and understanding. I work with adults facing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and low self-confidence, ADHD and autism, relationship and family issues, couples therapy, trauma, and challenges connected to identity or life transitions.

Whether you are struggling with emotional regulation, feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, experiencing bereavement, anger, stress, or navigating LGBTQ+ concerns, I aim to help you develop deeper self-awareness and a stronger sense of balance and control.

My approach is warm, empathetic and grounded in respect. I strive to create a trusting, confidential environment where you feel safe enough to explore what’s really going on — at your own pace — and begin making meaningful changes.

Training, qualifications & experience

Alongside my private practice, I have extensive experience within the NHS, sexual health, and education sectors. I am a BACP Accredited counsellor and fully insured, ensuring I work to the highest professional and ethical standards.

How I Can Help - Working together, we can uncover what’s holding you back and begin to change long-standing patterns that no longer serve you.

Therapy can help you to:

  • Find new ways to manage difficult emotions such as sadness, fear, or anger.
  • Cope with anxiety, depression, ADHD, or emotional overwhelm.
  • Heal from trauma or painful life experiences that still affect you today.
  • Navigate major life changes — the end of a relationship, bereavement, family challenges, or transitions such as menopause.
  • Build healthier boundaries, self-worth, and self-compassion.
  • Understand yourself more deeply — exploring your identity, relationships, and sense of meaning.

Whether you’re seeking support for emotional distress, personal growth, or relationship challenges, I offer a warm, collaborative, and confidential space where you can begin to feel more grounded, empowered, and connected to yourself and others.

How I Work - As a trauma-informed therapist, I recognise how past experiences can shape current emotions, beliefs, and behaviours. I believe everyone has the capacity for healing and positive change, and my approach is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in empathy, safety, and respect.

I offer face-to-face sessions in Wakefield as well as online or telephone counselling for clients who prefer the flexibility of remote therapy.

Couples Counselling - I offer couples counselling for partners who feel stuck, disconnected, or caught in unhelpful patterns of communication. Therapy provides a safe, neutral space where both voices can be heard and respected. Together, we can explore sources of conflict, rebuild trust following affairs or other breaches, and work through challenges such as intimacy difficulties, separation, life transitions, menopause, or differing needs within the relationship. Whether you want to strengthen your connection or gain clarity about the future. My role is not to take sides, but to help you rediscover empathy, openness, and balance within your relationship.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Face to Face Counselling -

I understand that sometimes, the most effective form of support comes from a face-to-face connection. In-person counselling sessions provide a safe and comfortable space for individuals to explore their thoughts and emotions. Whether you're seeking help for personal growth, relationship issues, or mental health concerns, our face-to-face counselling sessions offer a compassionate and confidential environment where you can openly express yourself and work towards your goals. I believe in the power of genuine human connection, hence why I am here to help guide you on your journey towards healing and personal development.

Couples Counselling

Relationships can bring deep connection, love, and support but they can also face challenges that feel overwhelming or difficult to talk about. Couples counselling provides a safe and neutral space for both partners to explore what’s happening in their relationship and work together towards understanding, respect, and reconnection.

In sessions, I help couples improve communication, manage conflict in healthier ways, and rebuild trust and closeness. Whether you’re navigating ongoing tension, recovering from a breach of trust, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, couples counselling can help you gain clarity and reconnect with each other on a deeper level.

My role is not to take sides but to support both of you in being heard and understood. Together, we’ll focus on what’s getting in the way of connection and develop tools to rebuild it helping you create a relationship where both partners feel valued, supported, and emotionally safe.
