About me

I’m a qualified BACP (accred.) and EMDR (accred.) therapist based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, offering support to children, young people, and adults. I follow an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring the treatment to meet the unique needs of each individual. With over 9 years of experience, I’ve helped individuals and families navigate challenging times using a variety of therapeutic methods, including play therapy and creative tools to explore and process emotions and experiences. My practice also focuses on the neuroscience of trauma, emotions, and how our mindsets shape our approach to the world. I incorporate somatic techniques, visualisation, and other therapeutic tools to best support my clients.

As an accredited EMDR therapist and Consultant, I bring extensive experience in delivering EMDR therapy to both children and adults. If EMDR is beneficial for your healing journey, I would be happy to incorporate it into our work.

I have a particular specialism in supporting children who have experienced adoption or the care system. I’ve worked closely with foster carers, adoptive families, and the local authority in various settings, providing attachment-informed therapy, therapeutic life story work, and offering support to both parents and children. I’m also experienced in collaborating with other professionals, attending meetings, and providing feedback where needed.

For adult therapy, I remain integrative, adjusting my approach to what works best for each person. This may include a mix of talking therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, somatic techniques, creative approaches, CBT, and trauma, dissociation and attachment-informed work. EMDR can also be incorporated when appropriate.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked across various settings, including trauma-informed specialist services with the local authority, schools, the NHS, and in medicolegal contexts.

Please feel free to get in touch and we can discuss how I might be able to support you or your family further.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have 9+ years working as a therapist in various services, including the NHS bereavement services, Women's Aid, Specialist trauma and dissociation services and the private sector. I have an MSc in counselling children and young people from the University of Northampton, and an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision.

I am an accredited EMDR practitioner and consultant, and am a member of the EMDR association. I am trained and qualified to deliver EMDR with children

I have also completed further training in therapeutic modalities such as ACT, Schema therapy, Internal Family systems and mindfulness, amongst others.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
