About me
Many things may bring you here. You might be feeling stuck, wondering why you repeat patterns, or experiencing anxiety or depression. Often, these experiences are rooted in the past as ways we’ve learned to protect ourselves. I approach this work with curiosity and compassion, helping you understand these patterns rather than judge them.
I aim to provide a warm and inclusive approach to psychodynamic counselling. The therapeutic relationship is central to my work. I aim to provide a safe and reliable space where you can bring your full self: the parts that feel confused, stuck, unwelcome, or overwhelmed.
Training, qualifications & experience
I qualified as a counsellor through the Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling at The Garnethill Centre. This allows me to be a registered COSCA counselling member. I receive regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development as part of my obligations as a COSCA member.
I have experience working both short and long term with a range of client groups and issues, including:
- Depression & anxiety/ GAD
- Trauma
- Abuse
- Adoption trauma
- Family estrangement
- Grief and bereavement
- Attachment issues
- Relationship difficulties
- Autism & ADHD
- LGBTQ+ clients
- Polyamory / ethical non-monogamy
- Life changes such as retirement, ’empty nest syndrome’ and divorce
- Homelessness
- Disability and chronic illness
I carried out short and long-term clinical placements at Lifelink & The Wynd Centre in Paisley during my training.
Before training as a therapist, I worked in a range of roles. These included youth homelessness, supporting care leavers, residential care, research, and administration.
These experiences shape my practice, helping me to provide grounded, compassionate support alongside my psychodynamic training.
