About me

I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, trained in Attachment theory from The Bowlby Centre. I practice from home in East Dulwich. If you feel that the very earliest relationships in your life, going right back to being an infant have been damaged in some way and have created barriers for you in forming new relationships or maintaining current ones, then I think we will have the space and time to work together on these. We can journey together, slowly at your pace, taking time to shed light on hidden/painful areas of the past.

The trauma and pain of how we were treated in the past can significantly affect how we live our lives in the here and now. It can also have an effect on our physical well being. Learning to understand what can trigger our emotions and alert out learned defence mechanisms is key to enabling us to take control of our emotions. In our family life, work and leisure life, we can be triggered by others, who can sometimes remind us of earlier relationships and our automatic responses take us back, almost as if we were there again.

I would hope over time, we could discover more about your past and your triggers and enable you to take control and learn to relax entrenched defences that may have become a barrier to you living the life you really want to.
