About me

Hi, I’m Darrel

If you’ve been carrying the weight of stress, low confidence, anxiety, relationship worries, or grief and loss, you’re not alone. These things can creep in and start affecting all parts of life - and that’s where counselling can help.

I understand that starting counselling can feel daunting. That’s why I focus on what really matters – helping you feel better, more confident, and more in control of your life. I bring together practical tools and proven approaches, drawing on training in psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I hold a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, accredited by the Prince’s Trust.

What to Expect

Empathetic and Grounded
When you reach out, it’s not about hearing a litany of professional jargon – it’s about feeling understood. I listen closely to your story and work with you to pinpoint what’s really causing distress, whether it’s overwhelming sadness, relationship worries, or the pressures of daily life.

Tailored to You
We begin with a free introductory chat – a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where we talk about what’s been on your mind. From there, we’ll shape the sessions around your needs, focused on easing your pain and helping day-to-day life feel more manageable.

Tools That Work
Counselling with me isn’t about abstract theory. It’s about giving you practical strategies to manage stress, boost confidence and improve your relationships. My aim is to provide tools you can use in everyday life to feel more steady and in control.

Safe and Supportive Space
You’ll have a space that’s warm, down-to-earth, and free from judgement. While I draw on approaches like person-centred and psychodynamic therapy, I won’t use jargon unless it’s helpful to you. We’ll focus on what works for you, here and now.

If you’re looking for honest, practical support to help make life feel a bit easier, give me a call or book your free introductory session online. I’d love to have a chat and explore how we can work together to make things better.
