About me

“When someone really hears you without passing judgement on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mould you, it feels damn good…” Carl Rogers

I am Daniela, a fully qualified, integrative counsellor offering a safe and welcoming space to explore whatever is on your mind.

My therapeutic framework is rooted in the Humanistic approach, which holds the belief that, given the right circumstances, everyone has an innate drive and capacity for personal growth.

I also believe that we are all born inherently good and deserving of human connection, care, and acceptance.

Counselling is a deeply personal experience, and I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I’m here to meet you where you are—whether that means a structured approach or a relaxed, open conversation. My focus is on creating a safe and supportive space filled with curiosity, compassion, and acceptance. Together, we’ll navigate your experiences, uncover valuable insights, and better understand the challenges and possibilities in front of you.

I work integratively, drawing from approaches and include theories and techniques from Person-Centred, Gestalt, Existentialism, and Transactional Analysis. This allows us to explore different perspectives, interpretations, and tools to suit your unique needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications include a Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Creative Counselling from Dunamis Therapy Hub in Crowborough, along with specialised training in areas such as ADHD and ASC awareness and support, working with self-harm and suicide, creative approaches to grief, an introduction to Transactional Analysis, understanding trauma, working with shame, metaphors and symbolism, bereavement support for children and young people, and managing emotional triggers in a counselling setting.

In addition to my private practice, I work alongside a dedicated network of local counsellors to provide a low-cost counselling service for individuals on low incomes. Another service, close to my heart is St. Wilfrid's Hospice in Eastbourne, East Sussex—a remarkable organisation where I gained extensive experience in bereavement support while working as a counsellor with adults and young people.

Additionally I have years of experience supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs and challenging behaviour in school and college settings. In both my counselling and support roles, I have witnessed the profound impact of a caring, reliable, and genuine therapeutic relationship in fostering confidence, resilience, and self-acceptance. I strongly believe that we all thrive when we feel seen, understood, and valued.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
