MSc, MBACP

About me

I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy in a regular, confidential setting, either online or from my consulting room in Bloomsbury, central London, a short walk from the British Museum and easily accessible from Holborn and Tottenham Court Road stations.

I work with adults across a wide range of emotional and relational concerns, as well as those who feel a pull to understand themselves more deeply and to reflect on the direction of their lives.

Therapy provides a space for careful, sustained reflection on your experience, including aspects that may be difficult to put into words or that remain unclear or unresolved. This often involves considering how earlier experiences continue to shape present ways of relating, feeling, and responding, and developing a clearer sense of how these influences are carried into your current life, relationships and behaviours.

I offer both time-limited and open-ended work, depending on what feels appropriate to you. Sessions take place weekly and last for 50 minutes.

I offer a limited number of reduced-fee spaces for those on a low income or in full-time education. Please feel free to get in touch to arrange an initial session, discuss availability, or ask any questions you may have.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am in the final stages of a clinical doctorate in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the University of Exeter, building on my MSc training in clinical psychotherapy. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

I have several years of experience in NHS inpatient and community mental health services, working with a wide range of presentations and diagnoses. I approach each piece of work without preconception, allowing the treatment to take shape in relation to the individual, their history, and what they find themselves facing.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I aim to offer a consistent and carefully held space in which thoughts and feelings can be explored without pressure or expectation. You do not need to arrive with a clear formulation of what is wrong; it is enough to begin from where you find yourself.
