About me

Daniel Hall MBACP

Listening Beyond Words

Life can feel overwhelming at times, and having a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood can make a real difference. I offer counselling online and by telephone for adults experiencing a range of challenges, helping them explore their thoughts and feelings at a pace that feels right for them.

I have a particular interest in supporting people with:

  • Grief and loss
  • Sight loss and disability
  • Dementia carers and family members
  • Men's wellbeing and mental health
  • Life transitions, including retirement, relationship changes, and career challenges

This list is not exhaustive, and I welcome anyone who feels they may benefit from counselling and support.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and tailored to your individual needs. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. Together, we can create a safe and confidential space where you can talk openly, gain a deeper understanding of your experiences, and find a way forward that feels right for you.

About Me

I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

My own life experiences have greatly influenced the way I work. Since the age of 15, I have been gradually losing my sight and have experienced first-hand the emotional impact that comes with adapting to significant life changes. Through support and self-discovery, I learned that I am much more than my diagnosis.

This experience allows me to bring empathy, understanding, and authenticity to my work. I know how important it can be to have someone alongside you who listens without judgement and supports you through life's challenges.

Outside of counselling, I enjoy camping, paddleboarding, surfing, and spending time by the sea, which is where I feel most grounded and at peace.

How I Work

I offer counselling online and by telephone, making support accessible wherever you feel most comfortable.

Before starting counselling, I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what brings you to counselling, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether we feel like the right fit to work together.

Our sessions are your space. There is no pressure and no rush. We will work collaboratively and at a pace that feels comfortable for you, helping you explore your experiences, make sense of difficult emotions, and move towards positive change.

I believe that, with the right support, people can find their strength, develop greater self-understanding, and move forward with confidence and hope.

I welcome any questions and look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

  • Carers Wellbeing Rate
  • Low Income Rate

If you are experiencing financial hardship and do not fall into one of the categories above, please feel free to get in touch. I am happy to discuss individual circumstances and, where possible, explore suitable options.

Further information

As someone who has experienced sight loss myself, I understand the challenges, adjustments, and personal growth that can come with it. My own journey has taught me valuable life lessons that I bring into my counselling work. I have worked with the RNIB and continue to volunteer with them, supporting individuals affected by sight loss. I also work with young people in my local secondary school. Both roles provide enriching opportunities to connect with others, deepen my understanding, and continue learning through lived experience and meaningful relationships. I am committed to ongoing professional development and will continue to expand my knowledge and skills through Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
