About me

I believe healing begins with being truly heard. I offer a warm, welcoming environment where you can feel at ease, speak openly, and together we can build a trusting therapeutic relationship. I'm here to support you through whatever arises - the difficult moments as well as the hopeful ones - as you move toward a more fulfilling way of life.

My approach is rooted in breaking down the stigma around accessing counselling. Reaching out for support doesn't have to feel formal or intimidating - it can simply be a relaxed human conversation. Think of it as sitting down for a cuppa and a chat, where you can talk openly, feel heard, and explore what's on your mind at your own pace.

My aim is no different for children, making your child feel comfortable to express themselves is key to help them learn their emotions, build their confidence and create healthy ways of cope with worries and changes. Working with play allows children to express thoughts/feelings through play rather than words, which can feel more safe and natural to them.

Taking the first step towards counselling is a sign of strength, and I aim to make the process feel as comfortable, approachable and welcoming as possible. My aim is to support you in reconnecting with yourself, building on your strengths and working towards meaningful, achievable change.

My work is grounded in Person-Centred counselling. Over the course of my career, I've expanded my training to integrate a range of approaches, allowing me to tailor our work to you and your individual needs.

If you have any questions about my approach, the counselling process or how I work as a counsellor, I'd be happy to hear from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
