About me
Hello, and welcome.
My name is Cleo Lawrence, and I am a Systemic Psychotherapist, trained at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. I work with children, young people, adults, couples, families, and professionals, helping people make sense of their experiences, relationships, and the challenges they may be facing.
With over 20 years of experience across Children's Social Care, the NHS, and educational settings, I have supported individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of emotional, relational, behavioural, and mental health difficulties. I understand that seeking support can feel like a significant step, and I aim to provide a space where you feel safe, respected, and understood.
My Approach
As a Systemic Psychotherapist, I believe that our wellbeing is shaped by our relationships, experiences, culture, identity, and the wider systems we are part of. Together, we can explore these influences and develop a deeper understanding of the difficulties you may be experiencing.
A central belief within systemic practice is:
"The problem is the problem; the person is not the problem."
Rather than focusing on blame, we work collaboratively to understand patterns, relationships, beliefs, and experiences, creating opportunities for reflection, growth, and meaningful change.
My approach is warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental. I work at a pace that feels right for you, ensuring that all voices, experiences, and emotions can be heard and explored.
A Flexible Therapeutic Space
I recognise that talking is not always the easiest or most comfortable way for everyone to communicate. Therapy can therefore be adapted to meet your individual needs, drawing on a range of creative, relational, and systemic approaches.
Together, we can create a therapeutic space that feels safe, accessible, and meaningful for you and/or your family.
My Commitment
I am committed to providing a professional, ethical, and inclusive service where people feel valued, heard, and respected. My role is not to provide all the answers, but to work alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and care as we make sense of your experiences and identify meaningful ways forward.
Seeking support can feel daunting, but you do not have to navigate life's challenges alone.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
