About me
**My practice is currently full, I do hold a waiting list and my availability does change, so please do get in touch if you would like to be added to this and I will be happy to let you know when slots are likely to come available. **
I am a fully qualified BACP registered integrative therapist/ counsellor working with individuals (adults of 18+), based in West Dulwich.
I have trained in all the main schools of psychotherapy, but adapt my approach for each client, because all of my clients are unique.
Sometimes, when we are struggling or feeling low, those who love and care for us may find it difficult to know how to support us. Or we might find ourselves feeling alone, unable to talk to anyone about how we feel - particularly if we are used to putting others needs before our own, or to being self-reliant.
But simply pushing on, hoping things will improve, often leads to a build-up of feelings which can becoming overwhelming instead, leading to distress and anxiety, or requires us to shut off from others, and disconnect from our feelings. However, unfortunately, this often leads to a disconnection from ourselves and life more generally.
I will offer you a non-judgemental and supportive place to explore and work through any difficult feelings or challenges you are facing, and explore your patterns and behaviours so you can understand their origins, and yourself more clearly.
By listening to you with compassion and empathy, I aim to help you regulate your emotions, and either develop resilience to tolerate difficult feelings and experiences so you can move forward, or build confidence to challenge behaviours/ beliefs which may be holding you back or keeping you stuck.
I aim to help all my clients find self esteem and agency to make choices which align to the future they want, and towards a healthier, happier life.
Training, qualifications & experience
I studied at the Minster Centre, one of the UK’s leading schools of psychotherapy, qualifying with a BACP accredited diploma (level 7) in Integrative counselling.
I am registered with the BACP and abide by their ethical framework in all my therapeutic work. I hold a post qualification Certificate in Body Psychotherapy (Embodied Resonance and Relating), and am currently completing an Advanced Practice in Body Psychotherapy Certificate.
As an integrative therapist I have trained in all the main psychotherapy modalities, but I predominantly work with attachment, humanistic, and relational psychodynamic theories. I also draw on aspects of body psychotherapy, since I believe what impacts our minds, also impacts our bodies e.g. panic attacks, insomnia, and tension in our body.
I have worked with pregnant women and new parents in a perinatal service, specialising in pregnancy/miscarriage/ parenting and the impact of these on relationships and family dynamics, for Lambeth & Southwark Mind supporting adults with complex trauma, and challenging life circumstances, and with both young (16+) people and mature students at Trinity Laban University for Music and Dance, and South Thames College group.
I work relationally, and offer both empathy and challenge. Prior to training as a therapist, I worked for 15 years in HR for large corporate and financial institutions, coaching and counselling employees from entry up to Board level who often struggled with burnout and stress, which has greatly supported my therapeutic work. I currently deliver mental health workshops to parent groups within a large creative corporate organisation.
I believe anyone can benefit from therapy, but often my clients seek support for
- anxiety, stress or depression
- grief and loss
- relationships, sex and intimacy
- family conflict, divorce/ separation
- pregnancy, perinatal mental health, fertility issues and miscarriage
- work stress, burnout, redundancy, retirement
- somatic issues e.g. eating disorders, panic attacks, exhaustion
- physical, sexual or emotional trauma, child sexual abuse
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Fees

Additional information
I offer all my clients a complementary introductory call, so you can get a feel for me, understand how I work, and ask any questions you might have.
Following this, I offer a first session at a reduced rate of £50, with no obligation of onward work - because I believe finding the right therapist for you is crucial, and I understand it can be hard to know, until you see how it feels to work with me.
Subsequent sessions cost £75 for in person or online sessions. They can be either short term (typically 6 or 12 sessions) or longer term, allowing for greater exploration and support.
Further information
I work with individual adults (18+) in West Dulwich/ West Norwood. I am conveniently located for those living in Herne Hill, Clapham, Tulse Hill, West Norwood and Brixton, or via a direct train link from London Victoria or London Bridge.
I also work online via Zoom.
Sessions are weekly, and for 50 minutes.
I offer a complementary call with each new client, so you can ask me any questions which might be helpful to you and find out more about me, and I can understand your reason for seeking therapy.
Following this, the first session will be to a chance meet and see how it feels to work together, and decide how we want to move forward.
