I’m Claire, a qualified Integrative Counsellor and experienced Coach.
Although I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression and low confidence, my special interests are:
I specialise in supporting women who are navigating narcissistic relationships, including those with a narcissistic partner or a narcissistic parent. I have a particular focus on the Mother Wound and how early relationships with a critical, emotionally unavailable, or controlling mother can impact adult daughters—affecting self-esteem, confidence, boundaries, and patterns in relationships.
Many of the women I work with feel stuck in cycles of people-pleasing, self-doubt, or over-responsibility. You may find it difficult to set boundaries, often feeling guilt, resentment, or fear when you try to prioritise your own needs. Together, we explore these patterns with compassion—helping you understand where they come from and how they show up in your relationships today.
I offer a warm, welcoming, and cosy space where you can slow down and focus on yourself. This is your time to feel heard, understood, and supported without judgement. Through counselling, we make sense of your experiences and emotions, helping you rebuild self-trust, strengthen your sense of identity, and develop healthier ways of relating to others.
Alongside counselling, I also draw on my coaching experience. This means we don’t just reflect—we also look at how you can move forward. I support you in setting clear, healthy boundaries, managing difficult emotions such as guilt and resentment, and creating more balanced, fulfilling relationships. Together, we combine insight with practical tools so you can make meaningful, lasting changes in your life.
Whether you are recovering from a narcissistic relationship, struggling with low self-worth, or wanting to feel more confident and empowered in your relationships, I am here to support you.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

What do my clients say about working with me
'Where do I even begin with Claire? She has been more than a support to me, she has been a steady presence through some hard chapters. She truly listened and helped me grow into the version of myself which I now like. I will forever stop and think ''what would Claire say'' in moments of uncertainty and when I feel overwhelmed. The impact she has had on me has been huge. Claire, thank you for helping me to navigate myself back to being me, I will miss our sessions so much'
G, female 30's in person and online sessions
'My sessions with Claire have been invaluable and I feel lucky to have met her and have her support in my life. The best part is the fact that she can blend counselling with coaching. She has helped me coped with significant loss and grief while enabling me to build a new life for myself moving forward. She listens carefully yet challenges at just the right time with the right balance. Claire herself has lived a full life, making her wise with an understanding of the realities of life. I feel I can discuss anything with her and there is no judgement. She is kind and caring but strong and encouraging at the same time.’
A. female 50's, in-person sessions
I really enjoyed my sessions with Claire and got so much from them.
I have had a mixture of counselling and coaching and both have been extremely valuable.
Claire has such a kind and welcoming manner that immediately put me at ease from our very first session.
I found her easy to talk to and felt able to relax and really open up which was incredibly liberating.
Claire listened and guided without judgement and without telling me what I should do or feel. She helped me to recognise feelings and traits that I never knew existed in me!
During my coaching sessions, Claire helped me to recognise a number of behaviours in myself and in others. She worked with me to look at strategies that I could use to get the best from different people and situations.
I feel much more empowered in my personal and professional life since my sessions with Claire.
I really look forward to my weekly sessions and always walk away having learnt or discovered something new and enlightening!

The relationship between therapist and client is something truly special, and I value it deeply. It’s important that you feel comfortable and supported, which is why I offer a free 20-minute call so we can have a relaxed conversation and see if we feel like a good fit.
Therapy is not always easy at times it can be challenging or bring up painful feelings but it can also be profoundly rewarding, uplifting, and even enjoyable. Simply having someone fully present with you, listening with care and positive energy, can be the very first step toward meaningful change.
Sessions can be face to face in Wilmslow or Online.
