About me

I am proud to offer a safe, confidential space filled with empathy, genuineness and non judgement. It can feel really scary to  share your experiences, thoughts and feelings to a therapist but we can work together to establish trust and create a space that feels safe for you. As a counsellor I will meet you in your struggles, walk beside you at your pace to wherever feels comfortable.

You may be thinking, how can counselling help you - here are just a few ways counselling can help:

  • Feeling accepted and listened too
  • Regaining emotional balance
  • Ability to set boundaries
  • Healthier relationships
  • Less anxiety
  • Lower stress levels
  • Exploration of possible solutions
  •  Greater self-awareness

A lot of my work has been around bereavement and loss in my role as a volunteer counsellor which has greatly enhanced my experience as a counsellor. A bereaved person can experience, anger, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and difficult relationships. Similarly, a person experiencing loss, whether it be loss of a relationship, job, marriage break down, home or sentimental items can experience similar struggles. I have also worked with clients who have Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), ADHD, Bipolar and Trauma.

I understand that reaching out for therapy can be a scary process, I have experienced feeling scared and apprehensive when I’ve needed therapy myself but you are here, looking at my profile so you have already taken the first step! I would love to talk with you to establish if I am the right therapist for you, please feel free to book an introductory session (free of charge) with myself.

Training, qualifications & experience

I studied at the University of Salford for 3 years to become a counsellor and I am proud to say I hold a 2:1 degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Professional Practice) I am predominately a Person Centred Counsellor but I completed a CBT module and continuing my CBT development with an online diploma as we speak - I am also working towards an online compassion focused therapy diploma.

I currently run my own private practice Chloe Davies Counselling, based in Highfield, Wigan and can offer 1-1 sessions in person or online.

I volunteer once a week at my local hospice providing counselling to individuals that are bereaved.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
