About me
Whether you are struggling with mental health, wanting to process your story or need support making some changes, I offer a space to explore your story and what has made you who you are today. Together, we can sit compassionately with whatever pain or issue is brought, bringing awareness to what might lie behind it and help you clear a path forwards.
WHO I WORK WITH:
As a Christian, I understand wanting a therapist who appreciates faith and spirituality as centrally important in your life. This means that if you are a person of faith, we can incorporate this as much or as little as you like. I often help clients explore their God-picture, wrestle with faith-related existential questions and explore he effects of spiritual abuse or control. Perhaps you are struggling with shame and need a place to explore without judgement, or you are grappling with expectations around relationships, marriage, singleness or sexuality. Maybe you are new to faith and would like some support in the transition, or have been a person of faith for a long time, but it has taken a different shape for you than what it once was. Therapy can provide a more neutral space aside from Church or more pastoral relationships to go deeper into what is going on for you and explore what you believe. I specialise in working with what your faith means to you and how you would like to include it in our sessions together.
Being of mixed Chinese and English heritage, I appreciate the deep need for respect in how culture, race and ethnicity can be core to identity and shape one's outlook on life. You might be struggling with feeling like you don't belong, or are trying to bring different cultures together. Perhaps you are in a mixed-race relationship and the cultural differences are challenging. It can be really helpful to be able to bring your whole self to therapy. All this to say that culturally competent practice is very important to me, and together we can work towards a life that is meaningful to you, however that looks.
That being said, I do see a range of clients from all walks of life, ethnicities, and beliefs. I can offer help with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, low self-esteem, to mention just a few of the things you may be facing that we can look at together.
HOW I WORK:
I focus on relationships and linking your past with the present, prioritising your perspective on life, with you as the expert on you. Curiosity, compassion and respect are at the heart of my practice. I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I draw from a variety of research-based tools to suit different needs. I am very creative, and love to work with metaphor and different creative materials, even taking sessions outdoors if you would like to!
I look to work collaboratively with you, working at your pace, whether it be for short or long-term therapy. I understand it can take courage to reach out, and that you may have questions or concerns.
HOW TO GET IN TOUCH:
Contact me by email or phone for more details or to arrange a short, half-price introductory session. This is where we can discuss whether counselling with me is right for you. If you can't make the times listed on here, let me know and we can arrange another time.
I understand it can be difficult to reach out in the beginning, so I am more than happy to communicate using whatever media you prefer initially and try to give you the information you need before you make a decision.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC) is a Christian professional membership organisation for those involved in counselling/psychotherapy and linked professions, i.e. pastoral care, coaching and spiritual direction, in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I offer support and insight in these areas and more. Whatever you are facing, you can expect increased resilience and self-awareness as we focus on both your concerns and the story behind them. It can be hard work, but it will be worth it as we find ways to help you move forwards with confidence, freedom and purpose.
I take a very relational approach, focusing on building trust and exploring together what will work best for you. I draw from mainly psychodynamic and person-centred methods, combining various creative techniques and ideas from other modalities.

Additional information
I understand therapy is an investment in yourself, and it can be difficult to take the steps to start. This is why I offer your first session at £25, to give you an opportunity to try before you make a final decision.
Accessibility to therapy is important to me. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if fee is an issue - I can accommodate some clients on a sliding scale basis, or suggest other low-cost alternatives.
