About me
I offer individual adult counselling and couple counselling. I can see you online; in person in Ashton Keynes (near Swindon and Cirencester); and I offer email counselling as well.
I can help you with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, bereavement, relationship problems, illness, and really all the many things that so many of us struggle with through our lives. Having a space where difficult thoughts and feelings can be explored openly and without judgement can be a transformative thing.
I am a humanistic, integrative and relational counsellor. That simply means that I draw on a range of approaches to inform my counselling work, and I tailor how we work to your individual needs.
I offer a space where we work together to explore what is happening for you, and how you are feeling about it. Together we can identify the issues, patterns or relationships that might be causing you distress; look at the influence of past experience on what is happening now; consider any changes that you may want to make and what gets in the way. I see it as a joint exploration, rather than me telling you what to do.
I am also a practitioner in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes, and if welcome, I can bring writing into our work together. This can be a powerful and beneficial way of exploring and expressing experiences.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling from BCPC (Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling). My training includes person-centred, psychodynamic, developmental and relational approaches to therapy.
Certificate in Working with Couples, accredited by NCIP, 2023
Practitioner Certificate in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes, 2024
I worked at Cotswold Counselling from 2019-23, and We Hear You (counselling for people with cancer and family members) since 2022. I teach on Introductory and Level 2 counselling courses in Swindon.
I see individuals and couples in my private practice in person and online, and by email.
I run therapeutic writing groups in person and online.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
