Intercultural, Neurodiverse Couples & Individuals Therapy

About me

BACP Accredited Integrative Psychotherapist providing relationship therapy, couples counselling and family therapy in Cheltenham and online across the UK and Europe.

I work in both English and German and have a particular interest in supporting intercultural and neurodiverse couples, individuals and families. Many of the people I work with are navigating relationship difficulties, life transitions, burnout, identity, family conflict, separation, or the emotional impact of feeling misunderstood, disconnected or overwhelmed.

As someone who grew up in Germany and has lived and worked across several countries, I understand some of the emotional complexities that can arise when balancing different cultural expectations, languages and identities whilst trying to build a stable personal and professional life.

My approach is warm, grounded and collaborative. In our sessions, you will find a calm space where you can explore communication patterns, emotional needs and the deeper stories that shape how you relate to yourself and others. I work collaboratively, with warmth and clarity, helping you build self-understanding, confidence, and healthier communication. Whether you are navigating cultural complexity, relationship stress, identity questions or corporate pressures, therapy with me offers clarity, understanding and a pathway to meaningful change.

Relationship, Couples & Family Therapy

Relationships can become strained through stress, communication difficulties, cultural differences, neurodiversity, parenting pressures, emotional distance, or unresolved past experiences. Sometimes couples find themselves repeating the same patterns and no longer feeling connected or understood by one another.

I offer couples therapy and relationship counselling in Cheltenham for partners who wish to improve communication, rebuild trust, navigate conflict, strengthen emotional connection or better understand each other’s needs and experiences. My aim is not to take sides, but to help both partners feel heard and supported whilst working towards healthier ways of relating.

Alongside couples work, I also support families experiencing conflict, transitions or communication difficulties, including neurodiverse family dynamics and intercultural family relationships.

Intercultural & Neurodiverse Therapy
As a German therapist living and working in the UK, I understand some of the complexities that can arise when navigating different cultures, identities, languages and expectations within relationships and family systems.

I have a particular interest in supporting:

Intercultural and international couples
Expats and professionals living abroad
Neurodiverse individuals and relationships
ADHD and autism within couples and family systems
Identity, belonging and cultural adjustment

Many clients come to therapy feeling exhausted from misunderstandings, masking, emotional disconnection or difficulties communicating their needs. Therapy can offer a space to better understand yourself and others whilst developing more compassionate and sustainable ways of relating.

How I Work

I am trained as an integrative psychotherapist, which means I draw from different therapeutic approaches depending on your individual needs. My work is informed by psychodynamic, relational, systemic, CBT and existential approaches.

I also completed additional systemic and family psychotherapy training, which allows me to consider not only the individual, but also the wider relational, cultural and family systems that may be influencing emotional difficulties and relationship patterns.

I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy depending on what feels most appropriate for your situation.

Areas I Commonly Work With:
Relationship difficulties
Couples counselling
Family conflict
Neurodiversity (ADHD/autism)
Anxiety and overwhelm
Burnout and stress
Life transitions
Intercultural relationships
Identity and belonging
Separation and divorce
Emotional regulation
Attachment and relational difficulties
Self-esteem and confidence
Trauma and childhood experiences

Whether you're an individual seeking support or a couple or family wanting to reconnect, therapy with me offers a space to feel heard, understood and supported as you create meaningful and lasting change.

Training, qualifications & experience

Work experience

Alongside my therapeutic training, I bring a background in the corporate and hospitality sectors, which means I understand the realities of high-pressure roles, global careers, and the impact that work stress, relocation or professional burnout can have on both individuals and relationships. I also have extensive experience in the NHS, where I supported women with complex trauma and histories of childhood sexual abuse. I have also worked in community crisis mental health services, within a children and adolescent mental health service, and for a parenting-support charity, helping families facing child-related and relational challenges and emotional dysregulation. I enjoy working with adults, young people, couples and families, and I offer therapy in both English and German.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
