About me
Hello my name is Bisma and I am a qualified integrative counsellor. I have my own practice called Bisma Hussain Counselling and I offer face to face appointments at New Beginnings and online appointments.
As an integrative counsellor, I offer a personalised, holistic approach to emotional well-being by drawing from a range of therapeutic models, including person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioural techniques.
I am also currently studying psychosexual psychotherapy which is talk therapy for individuals and couples focusing on helping them resolve emotional, or relational issues affecting sexual function, behaviour, and intimacy, such as low desire, pain, or orgasm problems. This therapy focuses on the link between the body and mind often identifying psychological blocks that cause physical sexual difficulties, and can involve exercises to practice outside of sessions.
I believe in meeting each client where they are, by creating a safe and non-judgmental space for exploration, healing, and growth. With experience supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, and life transitions, I’m committed to walking alongside my clients as they navigate their unique paths.
As an individual from a South Asian background, I believe I have a strong understanding of our culture and the stigmas attached around mental health and abuse, this is one of the reasons I undertook education to become a counsellor, to normalise speaking about mental health and the struggles we face navigating our British culture alongside our heritage.
Therefore my goal is to empower people to reconnect with their inner resources and move toward greater self-awareness, resilience, and fulfilment to live a happy, content life.
To ensure I can provide the highest standard of care and maintain appropriate professional boundaries, I will only respond to genuine enquiries relating to therapy services.
Thank you.
