About me

I offer a supportive, collaborative space where therapy is shaped around you. We move at a pace that feels right, helping you understand both what’s happening on the surface and the deeper patterns beneath it. Together, we connect these insights to the challenges you’re facing now. Clients often find this leads to greater self-confidence, a kinder relationship with themselves, and stronger, more satisfying relationships, creating change that feels meaningful and long-lasting.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have devoted over 25 years to working therapeutically with complex and vulnerable adults and children, supporting individuals through a wide spectrum of challenges and life experiences. My career has been guided by a firm belief that every person is entitled to a safe, compassionate, and empowering space in which to explore their thoughts, emotions, and personal growth.

Throughout my professional journey, I have gained extensive experience across diverse settings, including schools, the Criminal Justice System, and community-based therapeutic services. I have supported individuals facing addictions, trauma, mental health challenges, and other complex life experiences, always with a focus on promoting meaningful change, development, and wellbeing. My work is informed by a deep understanding of human resilience, and by a commitment to fostering self-awareness, insight, and personal growth.

I hold an MA in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy & Counselling and an Accreditation in CBT, which underpins my practice and informs my approach to working with clients in a thoughtful, reflective, and relational way. I integrate both psychodynamic and practical therapeutic approaches to tailor support to the unique needs of each individual, helping them navigate challenges and build a sense of emotional balance and clarity.

I have a particular focus on understanding the impact of grief and loss. To deepen this expertise, I am currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate in this area, allowing me to bring a nuanced and informed perspective to my therapeutic work. This ensures that individuals navigating loss receive compassionate, evidence-informed support.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I offer a limited number of reduced-fee spaces for individuals experiencing financial difficulty, students, or those in training. If cost is a concern, please don’t hesitate to discuss this with me- I am passionate that therapy should be inclusive.
