About me

I am a qualified Psychosexual Therapist and Counsellor.

I work with a wide range of therapeutic approaches with a strong foundation in person-centred values. I believe that when someone feels truly heard, safe, and understood, even if just for an hour, it can make a real difference. My sessions are led by empathy and connection; I aim to be a therapist in your corner, creating a space where you don’t have to carry everything alone.

That said, therapy is also a space for growth and reflection. When the time is right, I encourage exploration of thoughts, feelings, and patterns. Building therapeutic trust is key, and from that foundation, we collaborate on how best to move forward at a pace that feels right for you.

Practice description

My counselling style is informal, warm, and grounded in the belief that healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. Sessions are a space to explore, reflect, laugh, cry, and grow, whatever you need in the moment. I aim to create a relaxed, open environment where you can feel safe to be yourself.

Clients often tell me they appreciate the mix of depth and lightness in our sessions. There’s room here for humour, honesty, and real connection. If you're considering counselling, I invite you to reach out. The first step can feel daunting, but it’s also a powerful act of self-care. Together, we can explore what’s possible.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, grief, relationship dynamics, identity questions, or simply feeling stuck, we’ll work together to find what feels right for you. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, your story, your pace, your process.

I work fluidly, adapting to your unique needs and presentation. While talking is central, it’s not the only tool we use. I often incorporate visual aids like charts, timelines, family trees, and creative exercises to help bring clarity and insight. These methods can make complex emotions or patterns easier to understand and work through.

From a more logistical standpoint, I want every client to know that sessions are always confidential. They are held in a supportive environment, whether that is in-person or online. I welcome individuals from all walks of life and am committed to creating an inclusive practice where diversity is respected and celebrated.

Lastly and most importantly. I want you to know that you will be met with kindness, flexibility, and empathy. I have and always will have a genuine interest in who you are.

My first session

The first session is a gentle introduction to working together. It’s a chance for you to share what’s brought you to counselling, ask questions, and get a feel for how I work. There’s no pressure to dive into everything straight away, we go at your pace.

I offer the first session at a reduced rate, as I see it as a mutual exploration: you’re deciding whether this space feels right for you, and I’m beginning to understand how best to support you. There’s no obligation to continue after this session, and you’re welcome to take time to reflect before booking further appointments.

Above all, the first session is about creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and respected. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance, just come as you are.

Training, qualifications & experience

I began my counselling and therapy training journey with RELATE, then progressed to working with the NHS, other Health and Education settings.

Through my experience with organisations such as Derbyshire Rape Crisis, Childline, Women’s Aid, and CAMHS, I have supported people during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. These experiences have shaped a therapeutic approach that is compassionate, relational, and responsive to each individual's needs. Given my extensive experience I am extremely experienced in working with risk including self harm and suicide, emotional (de) regulation, safety planning utilising approached including but not limited to DBT, ACT, Schema Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Psychosexual therapy

Acceptance, Understanding, and Exploration
Psychosexual therapy is a space to talk openly about sex, intimacy, and relationships without fear of judgment. This can include low libido, kinks, fantasies, sexual orientation, desires you may have never shared before. It can also be a place to talk about asexuality or help you work through concerns about your body, functions, mismatched desire, or past experiences affecting confidence.

For individuals, our work together is an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, your identity, and your body in a way that feels authentic to you.
For couples, we can explore challenges around communication, intimacy, or other roadblocks, helping you reconnect in a way that feels authentic to both partners.

Addressing neurodivergence

With extensive experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), I’ve supported many young people and families navigating the anxiety, confusion, and overwhelm that can occur with neurodivergence. I also work with adults. Whether you have a diagnosis or are just beginning to wonder if your brain works a little differently, this is a space to explore at your own pace.

Together we can explore how neurodivergence may be shaping your experiences and find ways to honour your needs, rather than push you to ‘fit in.’  Please note, I do not offer diagnostic assessments.
