About me

I am an experienced clinician offering evidence-based therapy to adults and young people with a variety of psychological and emotional difficulties from Mild to more Severe intensity. I am an accredited CBT and EMDR therapist with over 20 years of experience working in a range of different settings including primary care, secondary care, educational setting and private practice. I provide psychological assessment and therapy for a range of difficulties including (but not limited to) Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, relationship problems, neurodiversity, Identity and Acculturation issues within short- and longer-term therapy.

Getting started:

Although it may seem a big step to take, an initial telephone conversation could be your first move towards an improved quality of life. In our first contact, we can speak to see if your hopes for therapy may be complemented by what I can offer. If I am not able to offer you help at this time or if you feel that what you are looking for lies outside my area of expertise, I will endeavour to signpost you on to alternative services.

Assessment sessions: In the next step we will arrange an assessment session to discuss in more depth, the details of what you are struggling with and what you would like to work on. The assessment process usually takes 1 to 2 sessions depending on the nature of your difficulties and goals for therapy. Following this we will agree on some initial goals for therapy and review them regularly to ensure that we are on the right track.

Therapy sessions: Then, we will plan a course of sessions together to work through your difficulties and talk about the things you can do between sessions to help maximise your progress. The number and frequency of sessions can be flexible, depending on what you would like to work on and your goals for the therapy. When you feel back on track, it can be helpful to plan a booster session(s) to ensure your progress is sustained.
