About me

Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, and finding the right therapist is important. I offer a warm, accepting and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever has brought you to therapy, at your own pace.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and work integratively, with person-centred therapy at the heart of my practice. This means I tailor therapy to your individual needs while ensuring you feel heard, understood and valued throughout our work together.

I specialise in trauma therapy and have experience supporting people who have experienced trauma, domestic abuse, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, stress and life transitions. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by the past or struggling with the present, we can work together to help you make sense of your experiences and move towards lasting change.

I offer counselling in a way that best suits you, including:

  • Face-to-face counselling
  • Online video sessions
  • Telephone counselling
  • Walk and Talk therapy in a peaceful outdoor setting

To make counselling more accessible around work and family commitments, I mainly offer appointments during evenings and weekends.

If you’d like to see whether we’re the right fit, I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation, with no obligation. This gives us an opportunity to meet, discuss your needs, and answer any questions you may have before deciding whether to begin counselling together.

Fees

  • 60-minute counselling session: £50
  • Counselling students: £45

Taking the first step can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re ready to begin, or simply want to find out more, I’d be pleased to hear from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and work within the BACP Ethical Framework.

Qualifications

  • CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in Trauma Therapy
  • CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Ongoing CPD in domestic abuse and trauma-informed practice

I have over 20 years of clinical experience in healthcare, including four years supporting people affected by drug and alcohol addiction, homelessness, mental health difficulties and trauma.

My integrative approach is rooted in person-centred therapy, providing a compassionate, safe and non-judgemental space tailored to each individual’s needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
