Anita Maidment Counselling; BSc (Hons) Dip. Couns. MBACP
I am an integrative counsellor working one to one with adults. I offer a warm, caring, friendly and trustworthy counselling service in Okehampton and Halwill Junction, Devon. I work with whatever is important to you, giving you the space to explore it at your own speed. I am experienced with a wide range of issues including bereavement, health concerns, anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties.
The methods I use in my integrative practice include person-centred, Gestalt, trans-personal and CBT. I also offer creative work; using drawing, imagery or sand play to help you explore more deeply.
You can contact me by email or telephone and I will get back to you to arrange a time to talk on the phone so we can discuss a little about what brings you to counselling and any questions you might have about me. This is free of charge and there is no obligation to book a session. You need to be able to feel comfortable with the counsellor you choose.
If you would like to book a session, I will take some initial details so I can send you some more information and let you know how to pay. Even after this session you can choose whether or not to book more sessions. You are in control.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
