About me

My name is Andy, I am a professionally trained Humanistic Integrative Therapist and Supervisor. I work in private practice and am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and a Accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS) I work with older children & adults on a one to one counselling basis in a relaxed, peaceful setting within a 15 minute walking distance of Tiverton's thriving centre, with quaint cafe's and individual shops.

Before going into private practice I was within the NHS. This experience has proven to deliver some of the most extensive and diverse training to date. As I've grown and developed my private practice through my training, taking ideas and expanding them in ways that have introduced a gentleness, that allows playfulness within therapy and supervision. Expanding emotions/trauma and difficult experiences doesn't always need to be approached directly. Being a integrative therapist means we draw on all the theory's, finding the right approach for you and discovering the tools that will help you to navigate through or to light up a different path.

I am a qualified, experienced therapist. I adhere to a strict ethical framework set out by the BACP (Brisish Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) and The National Counselling Society (NCS), who continually regulate for good practice. I am fully insured and DBS checked for your own peace of mind.

Adhering to these values ensures that I work consistently, with my client's best interests always forming the structure of my work.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
