About me
I’m Aly, a Counsellor and Psychotherapist registered with the BACP. I see clients in Ruislip and online.
You may be feeling anxious, low in self-confidence, having periods of low mood, be overwhelmed, lonely or entering a new phase of life.
I offer a confidential space where you can explore whatever feels difficult, at your own pace. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to say or where to begin, we can start from wherever you are.
My counselling work is adjusted to a person’s current needs. I aim to build a trusting relationship with my clients, working towards you feeling increasingly able to be honest and open within counselling sessions. I see positive change happen when people feel a real sense of safety, acceptance and authenticity within the counselling relationship.
I have significant experience providing therapy for leading organisations in London, working with issues such as:
Anxiety, overthinking, health anxiety or panic attacks
Trauma, chronic stress or burnout
Childhood trauma
Low mood, depression, feeling sad or lonely
Low self-confidence
ADHD, autism and other experiences of neurodiversity
Sexual identity and LGBTQ+ experiences
Relationship and family difficulties
Life transitions
Communication issues
Grief and loss
Establishing boundaries
Alongside my counselling work, I have a background in education with extensive experience supporting children, young people and families. I also facilitate wellbeing groups and workshops supporting people experiencing stress and overwhelm, with a focus on relaxation, mindfulness and emotional regulation.
If you would like to explore working together, please get in touch to arrange an introductory call.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified person-centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), with honours degree-level training in counselling.
I have worked in mental health and wellbeing since 2015 and have significant experience providing counselling for leading organisations, including West London Mind. Alongside my therapeutic work, I have a professional background in education, including ten years as a primary school teacher, giving me extensive experience of working with children, young people and families.
My core approach is person-centred, with my work informed by trauma-informed, somatic and nervous-system regulating approaches. Where appropriate, I integrate practical therapeutic tools into sessions and provide resources that clients can use between sessions to support them.
I am an experienced mindfulness and meditation facilitator and have additional training in creative therapeutic approaches and therapeutic sand-tray work, which can be integrated into counselling where these feel appropriate and helpful for the individual client.
Alongside individual therapeutic work, I facilitate wellbeing groups and workshops supporting people experiencing stress and overwhelm, with a focus on relaxation, mindfulness and emotional regulation.
I undertake regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development in accordance with BACP ethical and professional standards, and continue to develop my training in trauma-informed practice, adolescent counselling and approaches that support both psychological and emotional wellbeing.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I understand that finding the right counsellor is an important part of the process. I offer a free 20-minute introductory call, giving you an opportunity to ask questions, tell me a little about what brings you to counselling and get a sense of whether I might be the right therapist for you.
I offer counselling in person in Ruislip, online across the UK, and walk-and-talk sessions locally. Sessions are available during weekday daytime hours.
There is no expectation to arrive knowing exactly what you want to work on. We can begin with whatever feels most important to you and take things at your own pace.
