About me

BACP Accredited / EMDR UK Member - Integrative / EMDR Therapist

I trained as a therapist to support people live happy and healthy lives and not to feel shackled by experiences and situations that can prevent them from enjoying the here and now and looking forwards to a happy future.

We live for an average of 3 billion seconds, I would like to support everyone I work with use that time in the best possible way.

How are things for you?

  • Do you find yourself feeling lost, different, and excluded?
  • Do you struggle with your identity and where you fit into society?
  • Do you find it difficult to maintain relationships and social
    circles?
  • Do you struggle to focus and find yourself overwhelmed?
  • Do you have impulsive thoughts feelings and behaviours?
  • Do you have experiences from the past that are buried and feel unresolved?
  • Do you feel lonely, misunderstood and somehow unbalanced?
  • Do you feel like you are living your life for others and not yourself?
  • Do you find yourself in cycles, repeating the same behaviours?
  • Do you struggle maintaining the here and now and general pressures of life?
  • Do you feel you are going through a period of change that is hard to deal with?
  • Have suffered grief or loss that is affecting you in negative ways?

Experiencing one of any of these can feel overwhelming and lead to struggles that are difficult to manage in and amongst our daily lives. I would like to offer you an opportunity to explore what is happening for you in a safe and secure environment that will support you to:

  • Be heard and understood
  • Have someone acknowledge what it is like for you in your world
  • Not feel like your being judged or pressured
  • Explore your experiences as they are happening and stay with them
  • Accept and be compassionate towards yourself
  • Have a feeling of being grounded and in control

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
