About us
I am a compassionate and creative Psychotherapist, BACP accredited and fully qualified to Master's level in Psychodynamic Contemporary Counselling, confident in my expertise and humbled by every person I work with, who shares their emotions, fears and hopes with me. I have 20 years' experience in nursing and almost 20 years' experience of working as a counsellor, counselling supervisor and teaching counselling in a wide variety of settings, including the NHS.
It is my vocation and passion to continue working together with people who are challenged by circumstances.
Be it life events, relationships, wanting to address a dilemma, difficult decision, unprecedented future events including ageing and any type of difficulties that, on a short or long term, detrimentally affects them emotionally, bodily, spiritually and the way they relate to themselves, others and the world and also impacts their every day life, learning, work, creativity and wellbeing.
I respect and carefully consider all aspects of how daunting it is to consider counselling, especially for the first time, and how unique we all are. It would be a good start to hear your fears, hopes and expectations about working together.
I am particularly interested in working with people from a wider background, training / re-training or working in face-to-face jobs, responsible for others' care and education, managing transition and adjustment after significant personal and professional changes, including ageing, facing fertility and late parenthood difficulties, managing family and work responsibilities.
I believe in lifelong learning, and I have a creative way of inviting people to map their way forward using curiosity and a deeper knowledge of themselves.
Appointments are weekly, same day/time and last 50 mins, and the cost is £70.00. Reductions are available to students and Counselling Trainees.
My practice is located in a quiet area and private settings within walking distance of the St Albans City Station, and I am currently working with clients in person.
I adhere to the BACP’s Ethical Framework and am fully insured.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
I value the authentic quality of our professional relationship based on trust.
Working together is a significant commitment, and the beginning is as important as the closure.
The journey is about validating, containing, and compassionately working through what you find difficult, preventing you from a deeper alignment with your feelings, values, beliefs, and the quality of your relationships, work, and life.
Working towards understanding and processing emotions enables us all to evaluate the way we relate to ourselves, others, and the world at a deeper level, and it is enriched by your unique self characteristics, all abilities, and gifts. Learning about yourself is the way forward when we struggle.
I will follow your lead to learn and understand about the role of significant people in your early life, which, for the majority of us, still influences our choices presently, potentially detrimentally affecting wellbeing, health, relationships, learning, and work.
Broadening the awareness that family and wider system we live and work in have a certain amount of influence, expectations, and conditioning regarding ourselves, enables us to work through any difficulties that could be rooted into relational patterns learned in childhood.
Reframing from "I should " to " I am True Self and good enough", it is describing me, in one line, before we meet. Helping others and learning about myself continuously enhances my life over more than I could foreseen, and I warmly invite you to consider it.
