About me

I am a UKCP-registered transpersonal integrative psychotherapist, working with individuals from all walks of life, including those who are going through deep emotional, physical and relational struggles. I have worked extensively in both NHS,  community settings, and private practice with individuals facing a wide range of challenges from anxiety, depression, trauma, and loss, to complex psychosomatic symptoms and medically unexplained conditions.

My approach is grounded in creating a compassionate and non-judgmental space where you would feel safe to explore what has brought you to therapy at your own pace. At the heart of my practice is a deep respect for the human capacity to heal.

I believe that our emotional lives are deeply interconnected with our physical health. When our emotional experiences are suppressed often for very valid reasons we can develop habitual, unconscious defences that protect us from pain but may also limit our ability to feel fully alive and can cause further emotional and/or physical ill-health. As one psychoanalyst said, “Defences are the lies we tell ourselves to avoid pain.” In therapy, we work together to gently explore these patterns with care and curiosity, not criticism.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma from the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) London W2.

My approach integrates insights from transpersonal psychology, psychodynamic theory, and the latest developments in relational neuroscience. I work with a number of experiential and emotion-focused modalities including Experiential Dynamic Therapy (EDT), and its branches of Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy  (ISTDP) and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), which aim to help people access and process deep emotional truths in a safe, accelerated, and relational way.

In addition, I also draw from Complex Integration of Multiple Brain Systems (CIMBS), a neurobiologically-informed therapy focused on activating the brain’s innate capacity for healing and integration, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps people understand and relate to their inner emotional world as a system of protective and wounded parts. These approaches are grounded in the understanding that our nervous systems and brains are shaped by experience and are capable of profound change.

I am particularly interested in the mind-body connection, especially in how emotional stress, trauma, and relational patterns can manifest physically. I have extensive expertise in working with psychosomatic symptoms and Medically Unexplained Symptoms (MUS) conditions such as chronic pain, fatigue, or functional syndromes, which may not have a clear medical diagnosis but are very real and life-limiting.

Rather than separating mind and body, I view these experiences through a neurobiological and trauma-informed lens, recognising how the nervous system can produce physical symptoms as a response to unresolved emotional pain or perceived threat. Therapy offers a way to approach these responses. Rather than dismissing or rejecting these symptoms, I consider them as messengers of healing coming from deep inside yourself.

I am a member of the Association for the Treatment of Neuroplastic Symptoms (ATNS) and did present my work in this area at national conferences.

I worked in the NHS for many years.  My work at the Tavistock was featured in "Unseen City: The Psychic Lives of the Urban Poor" by Professor Ankhi Mukherjee.

For nearly a decade, I was an honorary bereavement counsellor at Whipps Cross Hospital’s Margaret Centre (Barts Health NHS Trust), supporting people through the deep emotional pain of grief and loss.

Beyond the NHS, I have a strong commitment to supporting marginalised communities, including refugees, asylum seekers, and people impacted by systemic inequality. I worked for over 4 years at Room to Heal, with trauma survivors. I also provided culturally-sensitive therapy to Turkish-speaking clients through the Nafsiyat Intercultural Therapy Centre.

Further information

Therapy is a relational and collaborative process. My aim is to create a safe and respectful space where you can explore both your struggles and your potential. Often, the parts of us that need healing the most are also the most protective guarding us against further hurt. In therapy, we can begin to gently build trust with these parts, so they no longer have to carry the burden alone.

I believe that being present in the here and now, with another person who truly listens and responds, can be one of the most powerful forces for healing. Together, we’ll explore the emotional, relational, and physiological patterns that may be limiting your well-being, and begin to open pathways for change, connection, and greater emotional vitality.

In addition to my clinical work, I am a passionate gardener and have long integrated nature-based approaches into therapeutic settings. I believe that nature can be a deeply grounding and restorative space for emotional exploration and connection.
