About me
I am Agata, a humanistic and Gestalt counsellor offering counselling in Portsmouth and Southsea, Hampshire, as well as online therapy across the UK. I am bilingual and work in English and Polish. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow their ethical framework.
I work with adults and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, identity-related difficulties, and relationship problems. I also support people dealing with the emotional impact of significant life events and ongoing stress.
My practice is intersectional and culturally aware, recognising that mental health is shaped by overlapping aspects of identity such as gender, sexuality, neurodiversity, religion and other personal characteristics. How these different aspects of a person's identity might interact to change the way they experience the world.
I have a particular interest in trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming counselling, and I welcome LGBTQIA+ and kink-aware clients. I am currently training as a psychosexual and relationship therapist, further developing my work in intimacy, sexuality, relationships, and couples counselling. I also have experience working with survivors of sexual abuse, domestic abuse, and ongoing patterns of emotional or relational harm.
Working in a humanistic and Gestalt way, I support you in developing self-awareness, confidence, and stronger connections with yourself and others. My approach is relational, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs, always keeping you at the centre of the work.
Coming from a creative background, I am drawn to exploring what is often unspoken, bringing curiosity into the therapy space. Alongside conversation, I may use experiential and creative approaches, as well as psychoeducation and practical tools to support understanding and help you apply insights in everyday life.
If you would like to book a face-to-face session in Portsmouth and Southsea or work online, please feel free to get in touch. I offer an introductory consultation online or by phone, so we can see whether we are a good fit to work together.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
