Listening to Self
A lot of the time we struggle to keep at bay our emotions which are sometimes nature’s way of leading us to seek our inner peace. Counselling can be a journey to finding that inner peace where everything falls into place. Where we are able to start to reach out to achieve our full potentials. These potentials are present in everyone but may be hidden under concerns, worries and emotional situations of life.
A Commitment to Discover Self
Sometimes life can seem so challenging and unnecessarily difficult. Being unexpectedly caught in not knowing how best to resolve the hurtful feelings from past experiences can feel stressful. All of which may hinder anyone from attaining their full capacity even at their best.
Committing oneself to come for counselling is often a big decision to make and finding the right person to work with can sometimes feel uneasy. I respect this and take great care in ensuring that clients feel safe, respected and valued. I am committed and believe everyone is worth the effort. I adhere to the ethics and codes of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy. I work in the Leeds - Horsforth & Bradford Area.
I am passionate about what I do
I offer a time out for a space to talk, to reflect and to explore self development. I believe given the right condition people are able to heal themselves by exploring different ways of looking at the issues that are of concern in order to improve general Wellbeing.
Are you having emotional difficulties that you can’t understand how to get past it or manage? You may be at a place where exploring how you feel, your thoughts and emotions may bring much more fulfilment than you have ever experienced in life.
As a qualified and experienced counsellor, I offer a safe and comfortable environment for you. To walk with you in exploring those difficult thoughts and feelings however unimportant they might have become to you or however hard it is to face.
Training, qualifications & experience
A Relational Approach
I trained in Relational Therapeutic Counselling. As an integrative counsellor I am able to draw on a number of different models of therapy in supporting clients to reach their desired goals and to maximise their full potentials through the client counsellor relationship.
I gained extensive experience through working in the voluntary sector with issues including depression and complex issues relating to trauma or post traumatic stress. I am trauma informed and work attuned to my clients using various therapeutic interventions and models including psychodynamic, relational interpersonal process amongst others tailoring it to client's needs for wellbeing. I offer flexibility of short or long term therapy as needed.
It needs your willingness for it to work
I work in collaboration with my clients. It involves alliance with client in an effort to discover solutions for handling problems that have been psychologically withholding and limiting to you. It may be working to get over problems that are getting in the way of you receiving what you want in life.
Open to Client's needs
As a practicing Christian with awareness of the effects issues around spirituality and the Christian faith may have on a person, I am only able to integrate this if it relates to you and is appropriate. I am open and non judgemental with you to feel safe and comfortable to achieve your goals.
