About me
I am passionate about what I do and know just how powerful talking things through can be in helping people navigate life's challenges at different points.
I offer a time out and give people space to talk, reflect on their difficulties and anxieties, and explore self-development, where nothing is too trivial. I know that given the right conditions, anyone can heal by finding different ways of looking at the issues of concern and becoming personally resilient. By facing things together often, we can help develop ways to improve general well-being.
Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy
Are you having emotionally disturbing experiences that you can process, get past, or manage? Or do you feel that talking through some challenges with a trained and non-judgmental professional would help you make more precise and potentially better decisions? You may well be at a point where exploring how you feel, think, and feel can bring much more fulfilment than you've ever experienced.
As a qualified and experienced Counsellor and Therapist, I offer you a safe and comfortable environment. I will walk with you to explore disturbing thoughts and feelings to help you successfully face current and future challenges.
Relationship Counselling
I understand some of what it means to endure toxic relationships. I know the cost of overcompensating in a relationship, unconsciously thinking you are making sacrifices for what you believe is right. Yet one's unavoidable life experiences within early family life can make one predisposed to unconsciously harbouring underlying and limiting life beliefs, outlook and susceptibility to attracting abusive relationships.
I understand the hope-disappointment cycle in a demanding relationship and the pain, hopelessness, and powerlessness that can develop from emotional wounds from intricately connected relationships. No one needs to be a victim of their past or experiences. There is another hope with many possibilities and potential for a colourful life ahead when one is willing to recognise and explore one's own experiences and self-development.
I integrate life experiences and knowledge in Psychology and evidence-based models, including ongoing professional development and awareness for an in-depth understanding of human reasoning and behaviour. All to offer a supportive space for people to work through difficulties that abusive relationships, domestic violence and trauma can cause or are causing. I understand the pain of survivors, including domestic and sexual abuse, who may need to get through legal systems. Some of the disappointments are that the lack of understanding of the intricacies of adverse personality traits of perpetrators is still unrecognisable in the family court systems, letting survivors down. Most outcomes will require self-development to awaken self-awareness, gain mastery, and restore power.
Couples Counselling
As a qualified Relationship counsellor and psychotherapist, I understand how important it is for couples to find a lasting solution to problems they both experience in their relationship. I am experienced in working with issues of affairs, including helping to understand how underlying unknown issues, including developmental lack and unavoidable problems, fundamentally influence a couple's relationships.
Having worked with culturally diverse relationships, I know that equity in relationships, which removes barriers to equal access, is essential. I work with couples to help them develop an awareness of their points of conflict and interests within their system, finding lasting solutions to resolving challenging situations together.
With a relationship focus, I offer a couples model that allows me to meet each partner separately as necessary to understand what each partner brings into the relationship and why. I offer a chance to work together to explore issues that may be uneasy to discuss with partners, which helps to soften the tension, open up and understand oneself in a relationship.
Couple's Therapy for Depression (CTfD)
I work with couples where one or both deal with anxiety and or depression underlying other complex issues. I offer skills and opportunities to learn how to change behaviours to oneself and each other while using the relationship between individuals as a resource to meet their individual and couple's needs.
Listening to self-needs as an Individual or part of a Couple or Family system
Life's givens and challenges are nature's ways of triggering underlying issues. They lead people through fears and concerns associated with human existence (existential anxieties) to seek inner calm and peace within themselves and their relationships. Keeping emotional conflicts at bay can sometimes be challenging, so we must hear our needs.
I walk you through Counselling to find resolutions and answers to underlying unsettling and unhealthy thought patterns, which can prove uneasy to explore alone. It is where everything starts to fall into place, and you can reach out to attain, sustain and enjoy an improved quality of life. The result can offer ways to better relationships with self and towards others in achieving fulfilment.
Although everyone has potential qualities that can make life fulfilling and enjoyable, challenging life experiences, including difficult childhood experiences, can prevent individuals from understanding themselves and how to manage their behaviour and concerns better.
A Commitment to Discover You
I am committed to supporting you in the journey of self-discovery. In most cases, all that is needed is the right environment, which I patiently strive to provide to encourage you. I appreciate that sometimes, being unexpectedly caught up with limited or no understanding of the best means to resolve past hurtful experiences and feelings can feel frustrating and stressful. It can hinder an individual from experiencing wholeness even at their best.
Committing oneself to Counselling is often a big decision, and finding the right person to work with can sometimes feel uneasy. I offer a therapeutic environment that respects this and your need to feel safe, respected and valued.
I offer the flexibility of short—or long-term therapy, which can be tailored to your needs. I adhere to the ethics and codes of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy.
Training, qualifications & experience
An Approach Based on Alliance with You
I work as an integrative relational therapeutic counsellor and psychotherapist and am Relate-trained. I draw on different therapy models, including psychodynamic, Systematic, interpersonal processes, CBT, and transactional analysis, to help you reach your desired goals.
I offer a supportive service in exploring essential issues to make life a better place for you. My work is collaborative with you to discover solutions to your challenges and problems that may have been affecting your life goals.
It means you will find my approach friendly, empowering, and conversational.
I have experience gained from working in specialist Counselling organisations within the voluntary and private sectors dealing with complex issues relating to childhood development, family issues, and sexual violence. It includes relationships, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression. I offer training and psycho-educational.
I am trauma-informed and trained, alongside further professional development in Psychology, to offer depth in providing the therapeutic interventions suited to your needs.
Open to Client's needs.
I can integrate my depth of knowledge and awareness, including specialised training on how the interplay of Christian faith and spirituality issues can impact a person, only if it is your preference and it relates to you.
Christian Counselling
I work with in-depth knowledge and awareness from biblical training alongside psychotherapy. I offer Christian Couples Counselling for couples who experience conflicts in their relationship within their Christian life. Issues around mental health, anxiety and depression, Autism, ADHD neurodiversity and more can be daunting to navigate. Not finding answers has led to deep internal offences and conflicts within a person and their beliefs, leading to a profound rejection of themselves and their faith.
Pre-marital Counselling
I offer my experience in a therapeutic space for couples desiring to marry. I work closely with each partner to understand their dynamic and what may pose a problem in the intended marital relationship.
Family Counselling
I understand the impact of unsettling family dynamics and their influences on personal and work life, love relationships, friendships, situations, and interactions with family members. I appreciate that family narratives and discussions can sustain patterns and dysfunctions and keep problems in place to maintain a familiar balance in some circumstances. You may want to explore the underlying issues and learn new ways of relating to a better life together as a family. I work with a framework of Psychodynamic and Systematic approaches in counselling.
I support families, couples or individuals in making sense of experiences that may hinder them from experiencing another person in a relationship. My approach seeks to offer a reparative experience in our therapeutic relationship, collaboration with clients, and a healing process for clients where possible, as I see results regularly.
I am open and curious, striving to understand each individual I work with. I maintain confidentiality and take an open approach to issues that are important to you.
I have offered face-to-face counselling since 2013, worked in supportive roles since 2008, and have trained in counselling skills since 2003.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
The first session (or an initial consultation) is a space for us to identify what brings you into counselling and, if possible, what you would like to focus on in therapy. It allows you to have a feel for how we can work together.
I offer a 50-minute therapeutic hour.
Book an Initial Consultation or a First Session:
For an initial consultation, depending on your preferences, I offer a half-session with half the online fee for individuals (£32.50) and couples/families (£37.50) to give adequate time to discuss what brought you into counselling, and you may ask me questions you may have at that point.
If you prefer more time to explore and decide if we can work together, you may book a full session with the full fees.
(The 10% below is based on availability.)
The First Session
A first session may be appropriate when you know what you want and want to get into the work immediately. We may need to discuss this further in the first session to clarify if we can work together and take things from there.
For couples, I offer an additional and specialised couple satisfaction questionnaire to support as a free pre-session preparation when I get the forms back on time before we meet, which can start to inform about your relationship towards our work.
A 10% discount may be available for the first session, which you will be notified of when you book. For example, 10% off £65 for an online individual session brings the initial first session to £58.50, and for couples, £67.50.

Further information
You are welcome to contact me to arrange a suitable appointment and if you have any questions.
Meeting face-to-face or in person online offers the same service, and I am aware you may have a preference that suits your unique needs.
Some have found it helpful to have a few or at least the first session as an in-person meeting and continue the future sessions using online platforms. If this is your preference, let me know, and I will endeavour to see how we can work it out.
I deeply respect and appreciate circumstances where a person may need a service but cannot afford it. To this end, I offer limited reduced-fee places, including student discounts, as much as possible when available. You are welcome to ask when you make contact.
