About me
I am fully qualified in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy in the Medway area of Kent. I have a practice in Gillingham Kent.
I can offer a range of skills and have experience in most areas.. Bereavement, Relationship Issues, Family Issues, Attachment Issues, Abandonment in Adult Relationships, Divorce, Children and Families, Trauma, Low Self Confidence, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Anger Management, Couples Counselling, Depression, Anxiety, Autism, ADHD, Sexual Abuse, Low Self Esteem, Stress, Alcohol Addiction, Drug Addiction and many other issues...
Sometimes the causes of our problems seem fairly clear and we know where to turn for assistance. At other times, our problems are difficult to understand and we find no answer from within ourselves or those close to us and we can experience Anxiety or Depression as a result, it can be difficult to find someone to confide in and get unbiased non-judgemental help. Talking to a trained counsellor, who is impartial, can help people work through personal difficulties and find solutions to problems.
Counsellors are trained to listen and to help others explore their feelings, thoughts and behaviours in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental way. Counselling does not claim to be the answer to all human difficulties, but it can help people find their own answers and offer support. In this way counselling assists us to move towards more effective ways of coping, enabling us to have a greater control of our own lives.
The Counselling experience provides an opportunity to share problems with someone skilled in listening. It aims to assist people, for example, to understand how past experiences and current behaviour may be linked, or to see things in a new way, which can lead to a more creative understanding of a situation, and assist to make changes where needed. It allows space to explore thoughts and feelings about oneself and relationships with others in a safe way.
The counselling relationship is different from social relationships in that it is limited to the counselling sessions. It provides a safe place in which to explore past and present feelings and the meaning of past and current relationships.
Hypnotherapy and Counselling are a growing part of life today and can be really helpful for Anxiety and many other issues we will experience in our lifetime..……..
Therapy can offers a person, or a couple, a chance to explore the options at a critical time in their life; a time when the old ways of doing things seem not to work any more, or when a new situation appears, such as a marriage breakdown, a bereavement or redundancy. Hypnotherapy or Counselling provide a framework in which you yourself can make decisions and move forward through a better acceptance of
your feelings and acknowledgement of your identity.
Do not expect direct advice. You may feel you would like to be told what to do, but this is not really part of counselling, because it is recognised that giving advice is not really a long-term solution. Whatever the outcome, if you have hypnotherapy or counselling, it is likely that you will gain a greater understanding and control of what is happening in your life at this time, an understanding you might not have gained otherwise.
