About me

I work in general counselling on issues such as low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, bereavement and relationship difficulties including divorce, separation and affairs. In addition, on workplace issues including work-related stress, bullying and harassment.

I also work in trauma counselling on issues including childhood abuse, domestic abuse and sexual violence. I have had considerable additional training in these areas. I have worked with trauma conditions e.g. post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) ,Complex PTSD (CPTSD) and the dissociative conditions up to and including DID.  I have also worked with trauma-related conditions e.g. FND and dissociative seizures (NES).

I am a qualified  BACP Senior Accredited integrative counsellor with over 15 years experience with clients. Working for over 5 years both as a lead counsellor in GP surgeries and  in a long term counselling service and over 4 years at a specialist trauma service. I work with adults and those aged 17+.

I value all clients equally regardless of whether you require counselling for general issues or for trauma and I believe in providing an environment in which you will feel comfortable to explore whatever is currently causing you concern. If you have any particular questions about the therapy I offer then please feel free to  contact me choosing a free introductory video or phone call  via this site.

I moved to the clinic as a base for my counselling work a year ago following the redevelopment of my former premises. This means I have been able to continue to offer counselling in Beckenham, where I have now worked for over 13 years in private practice.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
