Susan Jackson. MBACP (Registered) Dip.Counselling
Hello, my name is Su and I am a qualified counsellor based in the heart of Liverpool City Centre. My therapy is called Person-Centred Counselling and what this means is that we will work together exploring your thoughts and feelings about yourself and how they can be connected to events in the past or the present. Through this exploration we can build the right environment for positive change, (whatever it is in your life that you want to work on).
It may be that you're not sure what needs to change or where to begin.
It could be that you feel that 'something isn't quite right'.
Through our exploration we can find the answers.
Person centred counselling really can work at your pace with what you want to bring to sessions and we will look at what is important for you to speak about. You can safely talk about what you need to say, which may be something you have been holding for a long time.
I believe that it takes a lot of courage to take the first steps into counselling, whether you're having counselling for the first time or continuing the journey with a new counsellor.
So about me,
I offer short-term and ongoing open ended therapeutic support.
I always offer a free half an hour telephone chat as a first step so you can get an idea of who I am and a feel for the type of work we can do together.
(You can also ask any questions that you may have, all questions are valid).
If your instinct is to find out more please feel free to contact me via counselling directory/email or alternatively you can give me a call or text.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have been counselling for four years both in organisations and in my own practice, with experience in a whole range of different fields. I have worked within organisations that have supported people with lack of confidence, anxiety, depression, phobias, life threatening illness, sexual violence, drug and alcohol dependency, body image issues as well as relationship issues.
I offer talking therapy but can also facilitate creative sessions so that you can explore your life if you feel that talking about yourself is very hard for you at the moment. It is a gentle but powerful way to express yourself (and I promise you do not need to be able to draw).
Areas of counselling I deal with
- Domestic violence
- Eating disorders
- Low self-confidence
- Low self-esteem
- Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
£40 per one hour session.
Consessions available on request.
I am a registered member of the official counselling body called the BACP.
I am available to offer flexible times for sessions, including evening and full weekend appointments.
