About me

Sometimes we find ourselves in unhappy situations, maybe feeling lost or stuck and unsure of how to feel better it could be something from our past or something happening in the here and now that is not allowing us to move on with our lives

I believe counselling can help, by sharing unresolved issues with someone we don't know it can often help us to view things from a different perspective.  Having someone by our side on our own personal journey can help us to explore the most complex parts of ourselves and others around us from a place of curiosity.

It is my belief that counselling is a unique relationship, which if you find the right fit is built on trust that develops over time offering a emotionally safe place to explore, understand and choose what comes next.

Over many years of training I have developed a special interest in working with Couples and Families along side my work with Individuals and Young People.

Once you contact me I will offer a telephone chat to explain a little of how I work, give you the chance to ask me any questions and then together look at mutual availability followed by a initial consultation which is a full 50 minute session and same rate.

After the consultation if we decide to work together, I will offer you the option of a face to face session or continuing remotely.

We will meet in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

As a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) I adhere to their ethical framework and I hold full professional indemnity insurance.I attend regular supervision to ensure I am practicing ethically and safely and maintaining BACP standards.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
