About me

Often we contact a psychotherapist or a counsellor because we want to find a different way of relating to something in our life. This may be something specific; it may be a long-term issue or tendency; it may be something ancestral from our family or forebears; it may be a combination of these; it may be something else, or we might not really know, but just have a sense of ‘something’. It may have arisen through trauma, bereavement, loss, or abuse, or we may have no idea where it came from. I offer a safe space where we can look at these things in relationship; I am fully committed to being alongside you in whatever you bring to each session.

As a therapist and as an archaeologist I have always been interested in what is beneath the surface. I am fascinated by the different layers of who we are, how those layers came to be, and how we make sense of them. My commitment is to come into relationship with and process the experiences that have resulted in those layers, in order to live more fully as ourselves. This commitment is as much to myself, through my own therapy and personal development, as it is to my clients.

Training, qualifications & experience

I work as a psychotherapist in private practice online, and volunteer as a bereavement counsellor at my local hospice in Worcester UK. I qualified as a counsellor in 2007, and as a psychotherapist in 2024. My previous career was in archaeology, overlapping for some years with my counselling work. I have practiced Tai Chi and meditation for many years, and find both very helpful in my work and my life.

I have been in private practice since 2014, having previously worked as a Counsellor at the NHS Integrated Psychology and Psychotherapy Service in Wolverhampton from 2007 to 2011.
