A MINDFUL APPROACH TO COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY
Psychotherapy / counselling often accentuates 'problems' or what's wrong rather than helping people to cultivate and strengthen their innate strengths. I believe that we are all essentially healthy beings and my focus is to support people to reconnect with their healthy internal resources. Whatever it is that brings you to therapy, you have the ability to heal and grow; all you need is a safe, supportive space in which to do this.
I offer individual and couples psychotherapy, short and long term, and a safe and creative space in which transformation can happen. I am also a qualified mindfulness teacher and incorporate this into my therapeutic approach. Mindfulness invites us to live less in our heads - where we ruminate over the past and worry about the future, which can lead to depression, anxiety and related difficulties- and to be in the present where we are able to experience more freedom, peace, creativity and wellbeing. If you would like to learn these mindfulness skills (and anyone can learn them!), I can help you to do this.
I work with a diverse range of clients and have over 20 years experience working in organisations, hospitals, education and privately. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email if you'd like any more information or just want to get a feel for how we might work together.
My office is in Homerton, in Hackney, close to Hackney Central, Hackney Wick, London Fields, Dalston. Nearest station is Homerton Overground, and then a six minute walk. There is off street parking available in my block. I also offer Skype sessions if travelling is not an option.
