The aim of psychotherapy is to explore the issues you are experiencing and help you make sense of thoughts, feelings and ways of relating to yourself and others. By developing a greater insight, this can help you bring about lasting change. I am an experienced psychotherapist and take an integrative approach to my work. I work with clients on a short or long term basis, who have experienced a range of issues and circumstances that impact their life.
You may be seeking therapy because of -
- Depression and low self-esteem
- Severe anxiety
- Loss and bereavement
- Difficult relationships
- Past traumatic events
- Long term illness
- Wanting to find a new direction in life...
I can provide a safe and supportive environment for you to talk about what is troubling you, make sense of the issues that you are facing and look at more effective ways of dealing with future challenges.
Training, qualifications & experience
In the last 10 years I have gained a lot of experience working with adults, adolescents and children on a one-to-one basis as well as in groups within the NHS, private practice and a children's bereavement organisation.
In 2012 I completed a postgraduate diploma in psychotherapeutic studies as part of my clinical training as a counselling psychologist. I am also currently completing my doctoral thesis in counselling psychology at UWE. I take an integrative and relational approach to my work and draw on a range of therapeutic approaches including psychodynamic, humanistic relational and cognitive behaviour therapy.
