'If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got' Albert Einstein
Is this the time to do it differently? There are certain moments in our lives when we may need some additional help in seeking new ways of dealing with life's various obstacles. We all have the capacity for growthful change but this can feel both overwhelming and challenging. Every one of us is a work in progress, constantly learning and finding our way in life. It can be quite a scary prospect when contemplating talking to a complete stranger about very personal matters. It is my hope that you will put your trust in me and consider taking this big step by allowing me to accompany you as you move forward.
The issues I work with tend to be varied and wide ranging such as depression, bereavement, anger management, anxiety, abuse, alcohol and substance addiction, low self-esteem, relationship issues, long term illness, life limiting illness, stress, sexuality and spirituality. I respect and value your uniqueness as an individual and will work with you in a supportive way towards helping you understand yourself and your situation better.
I offer a warm, safe and non-judgemental space for working with you to identify what your counselling needs are at this point in time. I have been counselling for over 25 years and have a deep commitment to the work I do. It is my belief that the unique relationship forged between client and therapist is the force for healing and growth. I don't offer free counselling sessions however, if after 30 minutes you decide I am not the counsellor for you there will be no charge.
My private practice in Polegate, East Sussex is within easy reach of Hailsham, Heathfield, Hellingly, Lewes, Eastbourne and surrounding villages. Parking is freely available, I am only a 10 minute walk from Polegate railway station and local bus services.

Person-Centred therapy: The Person-Centred approach views that each person has the ability to move in the direction of a more fulfilling and satisfying way of being and living their lives. It is based on a trust of the inner resources of the client to find their own answers and direction. The Person-Centred counsellor provides the necessary conditions for this growth to develop. The client knows what hurts and has the capacity within the safety of a therapeutic relationship to begin a healing process.
