About me

Sometimes life has a way of coming along with circumstances that can bring huge changes that are hard to cope with or, we are troubled by a way we behave with certain people or in certain situations. Counselling offers the opportunity of exploring ourselves and our ways of being in a safe environment. This enhances our ability to understand and accept ourselves and the situation we have found ourselves in, thus increasing our self worth and self awareness.I work with all ages and a broad spectrum of issues including:- children and young people, couples, relationship difficulties, attachment issues, sex addiction, bereavement, mental health issues, abuse, loss, anxiety, self esteem, self worth, self harm etc
I am a qualified, experienced and fully insured person centred counsellor, a creative therapy practitioner, a Clinical Supervisor and a registered member of BACP. On the first visit we will discuss what your hopes and expectations are of counselling and how I can meet your needs. To discuss your issues you will be offered the following opportunities;

  • A safe presence,
  • To be listened to,
  • A non-judgmental space,
  • Respect and acceptance,
  • Confidentiality

It is my role to offer this safe space. Most of my working life has been in supporting roles therefore I have a great compassion for people and a wealth of life and personal experience experience to offer clients. I work in private practice in Great Yarmouth and Eccles on Sea, with the YMCA Family Support Team, as a high school counsellor and for Norfolk First Support.

Working creatively :-This is about using the sand tray with symbols, using puppets and story telling to work in a creative way with children and young people who are traumatised or struggling in some way. However, it is also very useful for adults who can work with issues, eg attachment, by bringing out the inner child in a safe way, by working with the creative part of the brain and the unconscious part of our selves. This can be particularly effective for those who find it difficult to talk about emotions and feelings.

Supervision: I am offering the opportunity for supervisees to work through client issues or personal development issues in a person centred and creative way.

Fees are negotiable.
